The rooms were spacious and offered excellent value for money. The beds were comfortable, and the cleaners did an excellent job!

The receptionist was calm attentive and kind. You can book escursions at the desk with fair prices! We extended our stay. Good breakfast intercontinental with cold and warm dishes, salty and sweet. Very clean. Good location close to shops and restaurants. No worries for the bathroom glass. There is a curtain for privacy.

This was the perfect stay in Cat Ba. It was a very short 5 minute walk to the center but was in a quiet street away from the noise. The rooms were very quiet and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good and plentiful. Jenny was absolutely amazing. One of the kindest and most helpful hosts I’ve met in Vietnam. She booked an overnight cruise in Lan Ha bay for me as well as a half day trip to Cat Ba National park. If you are in cat ba I highly recommend this place!!

Friendly and helpful host with great English as well. It’s a bit out of town but it’s well worth it for its “country side” ambience. It’s also only 15 min scooter ride in to town and 6 min to Cat Ba National Park. My partner and I had a private room and it was very spacious and came with its own bathroom.

This was probably the best hostel we’ve stayed in during three months travelling in the region. It’s very new so everything is in perfect condition, but it’s also all very well thought out. Plenty of storage space in the dorms, nice warm reading lights and good thick curtains around the beds to block out light. Bathrooms are great - very clean, with nice, powerful (and hot if you want) showers. The staff are also wonderful. Toby at the front desk is smiley, warm and always happy to help. Pa Pa in the restaurant/bar is such a beautiful soul and made us feel so welcome every time we walked in the room. The rest of the staff whose names I sadly don’t know made our stay that much better - always smiling and making us feel like we were staying in more than “just” a hostel. Thank you Toby, Pa Pa and everyone else in the team for everything you do!

Mr Lam is the solution for all of your Cat Ba problems.You need something done, he is your man! The hotel had Bikes for rent, Laundry solutions, shuttle bus booking, tours etc. Mountain Pearl gives so much value for Money. It's the little things like having a free water refill dispenser, unlike other hotels who chose to charge for water bottles. Had a good enough breakfast to start the day, we got Tea/Coffee with Eggs, Nutella pancakes and fruits. Rooms are clean, comfortable beds and a new washroom. Cleaned the room when we asked. Sadly the room had no heating during winter but that's fairly common in all Hotels at Cat Ba as the Vietnamese winter isn't bad enough to justify heating. Blankets were cozy and kept us warm throughout. We also liked the fact that the staff respects our privacy and doesn't try to make small talk a lot. Most hotel staff in Vietnam were always trying to sell us something as they earn commissions. Overall an amazing stay. We ended up extending and staying for longer. If we come back to Cat Ba this is where we would stay! Did I mention that they have a cool Roof Top.
