Our room had a smart TV too which ended up being great to watch Netflix on a day where the protests/strike prevented us from continuing our travels. The perfect stay. We'd like to personally thank all of the front desks staff and especially Luis for his assistance with our changing itinerary and recommendations.

Loved Cusco! But beware of altitude sickness! It is no joke! Take it easy first 2-3 days, drink lots of Gatorade, coca tea and buy a can of oxygen if you need to. They sell them everywhere. Then go out and enjoy this beautiful town! So much to see! Particularly liked Paddy’s Irish Pub and Calle de Medio for excellent food and drinks. The constant pestering of people for you to buy something can be annoying. But overall a beautiful and great city. Want to go back!
Cusco was probable the most amazing city I visited in Peru. I wish I had more time to relax there. Great vibe, great food and safe. The cultural diversity is also amazing. Learnt a lot by visiting the cathedral with an audio guide.
Cusco is a great town and the people are extremely hospitable. The food is excellent and the town is gorgeous. Only negatives are what you'd expect. Pushy vendors and a few cabbies trying to rip you off or get that last sole out of you.
Cusco is quickly changing into a tourist hot spot . Be prepared for many tourist now in peak season . Good quality shops, restrauants and accomodation is now available .
Cusco is one of the coolest places you'll ever visit. It's location, surroundings and history makes it unique and an endless source of attractions. You'll never run out of things to do while you're in Cusco.
The history of Cusco is felt on every corner. The locals are friendly. Many archeological locations to visit. Great place to walk, once one has acclimatized.
Cusco is absolutely fabulous! Beautiful, full of historical buildings and a true Heart od Inka country. Sacsaywaman ruins are so close that I simply walked there. Magnificent Sacred Valley is very easy to reach.
Cosmopolitan Inca capital, Cuzco (also Cusco, or Qosq’o in Quechua) today thrives with a measure of contradiction. Ornate cathedrals squat over Inca temples, massage hawkers ply the narrow cobblestone streets.
The four of us got a taxi from Cusco to Ollyantaytombo and toured a few historic sites on our way. We also went to Pisac international market by taxi. It is flexible and not expensive. The taxi driver took us to a buffet and a grill restaurant. The food there are pretty good.
Hit Cusco in the midst of an amazing local festival so have a very colourful memory .Booked cheap hostel there and used it as a base to leave luggage&explore with small bag... collectivo to Ollyantambo (fab village...stay over a night at least)...train up to Aquas Callientes.. stay over&do MP morning session..
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
It’s a beautiful lodging that’s right at the heart of the historic center. I love the decor and the provisions included, nothing was lacking or overdone. I was able to connect with the hotel via whatsapp before arriving and they arranged for a taxi pickup at the airport to avoid overpriced fees if booking from there. We stayed for only one night but I wished we had used it as a base for the rest of our trip because everything you need (wrt travel around Peru) can be arranged in Cusco. Laundry, tours, and bag storage are also available.
Machu Picchu
Hotel staff were incredibly kind. They held our luggage in a secure room prior to check in and helped us to navigate to the hotel, which is centrally located. We (10 people) had arrived early to Aguas Calientes to try and buy Machu Picchu tickets in person. We were unable to get tickets for the next day, so we decided to leave back to Cusco that night. We didn’t stay the night for that reason, but used the rooms for naps and showers. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable with warm blankets. Showers were hot. Solid place, good people.
Great location in Cusco. Across the street you will find an ATM that serves most debit cards. The Hotel is very well kept. The staff are very professional and friendly. The restaurant and the breakfast buffet is very good. The rooms are comfy with an extra big bathroom. We are more than pleased having chosen the Sonesta. Tip: You will be bombarded with tour agencies trying to get your business. If you haven't already booked your tours, wait till you arrive at the hotel, they will arrange everything for you at better prices.
The staff was very friendly and they were able to accommodate a last minute request. The breakfast is good and we ordered dinner one day and it was delicious. The facilities are good and cute and you have a little patio on the 4th floor with views. They have heaters which made us stay so cozy in as we have been in many other accommodation in Peru and that's not common to have. Temperatures can change very drastically in Cusco and can be very chilly at night. Location was good also, quite area and close to plaza de armas.
We had an amazing stay in Hotel Peru Real. The location is very good, we were walking everywhere. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The best part is the staff. They are so helpful and welcoming. Roberto made our stay incredible. He helped us book all our tours, adjusted it to our schedule and genuinly cared that we were safe and happy. If you go to Cusco, book everything with the Hotel, not online. We had the best help and would reccomend everyone to do the same. Thank you Roberto and the rest of the staff 🫶🏽
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
Everything about Samay Wasi hostel is great: Starting from the staff, who is always available to help and is very well organised. Hostel has this nice family vibe. The view from the dorm and the terrace were incredible. San Blas is a cute neighborhood and you will get to the main plaza in 10 min walk. The products served at breakfast are yummy: fresh orange juice, good bread, good coffee... Never had any issue with hot shower (good pressure, and always had very hot water), unlike in lots of other places in Cusco.
I like the view from our room. next to the water creek and it is not very loud. Good nite sleep, very quite. I like their breakfast. So close to town i walk everywhere. lots of restuarants option. Really like Veronica and Magico right across the street . Almost at the entrance to Ollantaytampo ruins. Easy to catch a taxi or tutu to the Peru train station. Derek the front desk was a great help to us. Speak really good english. Friendly and helpful. Even help me negotiate a good taxi deal back to Cusco.
By far, the best hotel that we’ve stayed at throughout Peru! Hotel sits atop Cusco (so there is a little bit of a hike to main plaza area) but come night time, the peaceful quiet and beautiful overviews of the city were perfect. Staff extremely attentive, English speaking and offered recommendations for our stay. Laundry service available, happy hour drinks, breakfast every morning. No elevator - so not handicap accessible. We took advantage of the massage services - great addition to our stay.
Machu Picchu
Multilingual staff were really friendly and welcoming. When we returned from the trek to Machu Pichu, they let us shower in our room even though we had checked out. We really appreciated that as it made the journey back to Cusco bearable. Thank you! Large double room with private bathroom was comfortable and clean with views over looking a square and the mountains. Hostel has a bar, restaurant and some nice chill out areas. Would certainly recommend this place for a night or two.
Ollantaytambo
Wow. This place is probably one of the best places we have stayed in Peru. The place is so charming and the garden is lovely, blooming and green. It’s so much better than staying in Cusco, I definitely recommend you booking this place here and enjoying the peace and quiet it offers. The staff is super nice, welcoming, we even left our luggage for 2 days there for free, while we stayed in Macchu Pichu. Cannot recommed more.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Casona Dorada Hotel Cusco! The staff was so friendly and responsive to our questions and requests. We frequently left the hotel at early hours before breakfast was served, so the staff prepared us a “breakfast to go bag” the night before that included a delicious selection of food. Our room was extremely clean and had comfortable beds. It also was a fantastic location, near everything.
This family hotel makes you feel safe, when you arrive in Peru, the staff is always on the lookout to help you with whatever you need, they waited for us upon arrival and Alexander helped us a lot throughout our tour, the room is comfortable and very hygienic, with the friendliest staff, super good breakfast and good quality and price ratio, I recommend taking here complementary services for the city of Cusco.
It is a beautiful little hotel. We had a spacious room with a jacuzzi tub! The bathroom was recently renovated and nicely done. They have an elevator which is not always the case in older hotels in Peru. Breakfast was good and so was restaurant for dinner. The staff were very helpful and really went out of their way to make us comfortable. It is a block from the Cusco Market and 3 blocks to the main square.
We loved the breakfasts and just overall ambiance of the hotel. It felt so original to Cusco and I appreciated the rustic decor. Turndown service daily was great, and I highly recommend having dinner at their onsite restaurant as well! They made us a wood burning fire as we were sipping Peruvian wine and eating excellent Alpaca… would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend to others as well!
Patti (La Jefa) is an absolute legend! I cannot say enough about how lovingly we were treated during our stay in this modest and unassuming little village between Cusco and Juliaca. Anyone looking for a base to go visit Rainbow Mountain on their own, I cannot recommend any hotel in Peru more highly if for no other reason than how pleasant and kind our hosts were. Thank you, Patti, for everything!
From the beginning I felt really comfortable at El Ave Azul Boutique Hotel. The service was really good, the Host/Boss was realy friendly and helpful. The Interior was good, the bed comfortable, the house was really nice. i can totally recommend this place and i would stay there again, if i would come back to Cusco. All of the employers/family were really nice! Good place to stay!
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
I stayed at Hostel Rivendell for several days when I first arrived in Cusco. The owner, Sergio, was very friendly and helped me to plan the rest of my trip and give me recommendations. The ambience is very relaxing and the name Rivendell really suits it as a place of refuge for weary travelers like myself. I really like the outside area in particular, perfect for barbecuing and relaxing.
Our second time staying in this brilliant hotel near the centre of Cusco because we had such a wonderful time the first time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and let us check in early. The art and atmosphere in the hotel was wonderful. The café was lovely and served a fantastic lunch and drinks as we relaxed in the courtyard in the afternoon.
Cusco City Centre, Cusco
Perfect place and location for 5 of us to enjoy a few nights in Cusco before doing the Inca trail. Washington is so helpful, recommended a great restaurant and supermarket and very grateful to him for storing our luggage while we were away. Beds were so comfortable! Thank you, it was a great start to our Peru experience.
Cusco
The owner is one of the most warm & friendly people I met in Peru. She went out of her way to confirm booking in advance, help us arrange transport in Cusco, and woke up at 4am to make us breakfast. Location is 10 min walk (on flat sidewalk) to train & bus stations. Highly recommend this location.
