We LOVED our 5-night stay at this hotel! The location was absolutely perfect, and the hotel itself is amazing. Just off the lobby area, there is a covered courtyard area with large trees in it, and you can have breakfast overlooking the courtyard. In another part of the hotel, there is a library/reading area, and on the third floor, the large terrace has lovely views of the surrounding hills and is full of potted flowers and plants. The artistic details, including many murals and beautiful decorations, add such class to this hotel. The restaurant is very good, and the service - from front desk staff to restaurant staff to the helpful staff members who opened the door to the private parking garage every time we needed to come or go - is outstanding. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation, and we would very happily stay here again.

I’ve traveled a ton but this was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. San Cristobal is certainly a pueblo mágico but Iván at Noma makes it even more magical. I was travelling on my own (with a sprained ankle no less) and felt very much taken care of by Ivan, Antonia the cook and the rest. I felt like Ivan bent over backwards to ensure my stay was good: his recommendations were the best, he lined up my tours and even helped me buy my bus ticket to the airport. In addition, he knows everything about chocolate and makes his own - you’ll be gifted with a piece when you check in! He’s an absolute resource - from his knowledge about chocolate to the best places to explore in San Cris to politics. Noma is equally wonderful where there is so much attention to detail and ensuring local and sustainable products are used - from the soaps to textiles to food. The daily cleaning is much appreciated and you get to meet other fellow-travellers who are also lovely (Noma seems to attract them). This is even better than staying at home lol - it felt like a sanctuary with truly lovely people and at a great price. Will definitely be back!

The city is not very touristic and man can’t do or see there...
The city is not very touristic and man can’t do or see there much. In Mexico, even in Chiapas is many more interesting places to stay. Also important information, there is no public transport to the airport. You have to take taxi for 300 pesos. Public buses are going frequently to San Cristóbal de la Casas (200 pesos), so if someone being there, want to go to Tuxtla only for having better connection with airport, just don’t do it. In Tuxtla are only two places worth to visit. First is zoo, where in big space are animalas appearing only in this part of Mexico. Zoo in Tuxtla is not open on Mondays. Second is Marimba Park where are at evenings concerts of this Mexican music. This place is live after 18.00, before is not much to see. Next to Marimba Park is small Marimba Museum, but now is renovating and it’s closed. Also Sumidero Canyon is easier to visit from San Cristóbal de la Casas than from the Tuxtla Gutiérrez.

Pokoje hotelowe przestronne. Ciepła woda dostępna cały dzień. Mieliśmy pokój na basen, ale mimo to nie było głośno. Z basenu nie korzystaliśmy, ale wyglądał na czysty. Widzieliśmy podczas naszego pobytu jak rano był sprzątany. W pokoju klimatyzacja i wiatrak. Bardzo dobre wifi (indywidualne dla pokoju). Bezpłatny parking na terenie hotelu. Blisko dobrych (lecz droższych restauracji jak na warunki stanu Chiapas). Do głównego parku w Palenque jakieś 10 minut spacerem. Ogólne wrażenie bardzo dobre.

Although larger than expected, the staff made the stay feel more intimate. We had a great, spacious room on the third floor. Very clean, well appointed. Good airrcon, bathroom and bed. Good restaurant attached. Pool very good. They host groups who were out early and back late so very peaceful. 5 mins walk to the bus station and collectivo for ruins.

W hotelu Villa Mercedes zatrzymaliśmy się na trzy noce. Zostaliśmy ciepło powitani, a obsługa mówiła po angielsku. Otoczenie zapierało dech w piersiach i nie moglibyśmy sobie lepszego wyobrazić - przepiękny ogród z potężnymi drzewami do których zaglądają dzikie wyjce, papugi ara i inne, a w kwiatostanach co rano tuż obok naszych drzwi pokazywały się kolibry i wielobarwne dzięcioły. Po trawniku przechadzają się sympatyczne i łagodne aguti. Wrażenie robił też basen wśród bananowców. Jest dostępny bardzo duży parking, a odległość od ruin Palenque to kilka minut jazdy samochodem. Nie wykupiliśmy śniadania, więc nic nie możemy powiedzieć na ten temat. ENG: We stayed at the Villa Mercedes for three nights. We were warmly welcomed and the staff spoke English. The surroundings were breathtaking and we couldn't imagine a better one - a beautiful garden with huge trees that are visited by wild howler monkeys, macaw parrots and others. Hummingbirds and multicolored woodpeckers showed up in the inflorescences every morning right next to our door. Friendly and gentle agoutis are walking on the lawn. The pool among the banana trees was also impressive. There is ample parking available and the ruins of Palenque are a short drive away. We didn't buy breakfast so we can't say anything about that.

It was a awesome trip, it's a little isolated which we did not mind you have the beach to yourself mostly except for the other guess. But we enjoyed it because it was more romantic and quit. The restaurant was great to the best drinks i have had at the beach not water down lol. I will recommend them and return again.
