We intended to be here for one night and ended up staying for two because we loved the hotel and the area so much. Fabulously comfortable rooms with lovely beds, heated floors, geothermal pool in the back yard and lovely breakfast. Near wonderful restaurants and on the Golden Circle route. Both nights we were here we were blessed with spectacular visitations by the Northern Lights. Can’t recommend enough!!!

Welcome to Aurora Lodge Hotel, where adventure awaits! Our complex of 8 charming buildings sits right on the banks of the East Rangá River, just a stone's throw from the Icelandic Route 1 (Ring Road)... The breakfast buffet was lovely, offering a variety of baked goods, creamy eggs, fresh yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and espresso. It was a peaceful setting only minutes to a couple of good restaurants.

Located within 3 km of Kirkjugólf and Systrafoss twin waterfalls, Magma Hotel offers accommodation in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Rooms are modern with Nordic design and free WiFi. Such a lovely experience! The view of the lake was gorgeous, and the room was very spacious (and we were a group of 3). Staff is friendly and there's a good breakfast service as well. Would definitely recommend and come back!
