In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place. I loved this place...an oasis on the river with a lot of personal touch. The food and drinks are very good. If you come by car you can park at a restaurant on the other side of the river and will be picked up by a boat

El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. I loved my stay here! The garden, the yoga deck, the river. This place is amazing! The dorm is very cute and the family dinners are delicious (the portions are very generous). Recommend renting a kayak for a day of exploration!

Hotel Posada Stella Maris se află în Puerto Barrios și include cazare de 5 stele, o grădină și un lounge comun. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar se găsește în Izabal, la 45 km de Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, și oferă o grădină, o terasă și parcare privată gratuită. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Livingston Resort Hotel se găsește pe malul mării în Lívingston, la câțiva pași de Plaja de Nord din Livingston, și oferă diverse facilități, printre care o grădină, o terasă și un bar. A beautiful property in a great location. One of my best vacations. I will definitely return here again. A great place for travelers.

Hotel El Reformador se află în Puerto Barrios și include cazare de 4 stele, o grădină, o terasă și un bar. It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.

Nanajuana Río Dulce has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in Río Dulce. Among the various facilities of this property are a shared lounge, a garden and barbecue facilities.... Very nice hotel! Across the bridge from Rio Dulce itsself, but everything is a short tuktuk ride or boatride away. Perfect location and pool. Very nice cabins! Best we had in the whole of Guatemala.

Located in the middle of the jungle, 3 km from Livingston Town Centre, Finca Tatin Hotel features an extensive garden, a furnished terrace and hammock area. Such an amazing place. A great spot to just chill out for a few days. There’s literally a jungle all around and the river is beautiful and clean. The staff were fantastic, they really try to make this place feel like home for you.
