Tortugal Boutique River Lodge er staðsett í ánni Rio Dulce, nálægt kastala frá 16. öld og er baðað í næstum stöðugri andvara frá ströndinni en þar er boðið upp á svalandi og hressandi stað. Good food, comfortable beds and a great atmosphere all around. Angela is a real star in this place, she was very kind to me and my partner whom was not feeling well. Thank you so much for your help.

El Hotelito Perdido er lítið frumskógar athvarf staðsett miðsvæðis í Rio Dulce-þjóðgarðinum. The place is really beautiful, when you are there, you don’t feel like using internet, just do nothing or read a book, sometime swim in the river. It’s a wonderful place to recharge yourself. Once we arrived, we saw the place, we extend one more night. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, food was really good. Me and my husband had good chat with Tim (the owner), he is really funny and shared lots of interesting stories with us. We were a bit sad to leave this paradise, El Hotelito Perdido is one of our favorite place during the trip in Guatemala. Unforgettable experience…

There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar er staðsett í Izabal, 45 km frá Castillo de San Felipe de Lara og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, verönd og veitingastað. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Livingston Resort Hotel er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Lívingston. The pool was amazing and has heating, allowing you to enjoy it even late at night. The food was amazing, I tried all of the pasta places in town and none came close to match theirs.

Casa Nostra er með garð, sameiginlega setustofu, verönd og veitingastað í Lívingston. Þetta 3 stjörnu hótel býður upp á ókeypis WiFi, herbergisþjónustu og sólarhringsmóttöku. Exceptionally helpful.staff. I only managed to meet Stuart, the owner the morning I was leaving but he made it his business to find me and within 20 minutes organised a shuttle for me to Flores. His staff were also very attentive and gave me all the info I needed for my stay but we're in no way pushy trying to sell me tours. The room was perfect. Clean with a really good fan and a balcony. It was a shared bathroom but only shared with 2 other rooms. Location is stunning. Right on the water and they have a restaurant/bar. I loved Livingston and Casa Nostra made.my stay even better. They also have a few very placid dogs lazing about which is lovely. Highly recommended!

Hotel El Reformador er staðsett í Puerto Barrios og býður upp á garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar. Þetta 4 stjörnu hótel býður upp á ókeypis WiFi, herbergisþjónustu og sólarhringsmóttöku. It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.
