The rapidly expanding Jordanian capital, Amman is an economic powerhouse spread over various hills. Atop one sits the Citadel, containing remains of the Roman Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine church and an 8th-century mosque and palace.
Also here is the Jordan Archaeological Museum, and at the foot of the hill is a Roman theatre, part built in the rock. Modern housing blocks surround it, but the most avant-garde architecture is in the developing Al Abdali business district.
The tallest Amman structures will be the Jordan Gate Towers and will house one of the city’s high-rise hotels. International brands of restaurants and bar can be found alongside more traditional cuisine in Amman, and many eateries are in the large Mecca Mall and Grand City Mall, which also has a cinema.
Nearby is the desert-like vegetation of Al Hussein National Park, and the Royal Automobile Museum which features cars of King Hussein, ruler for over 40 years and after whom are named city sights such as the King Hussein Business Park and mosque. The King Abdullah I Mosque has a beautiful blue dome, while Abu Darweesh Mosque at Amman’s highest point is a striking black-and-white structure.
Booking.com’s Amman accommodation includes 5-star hotels, apartments in the embassy district, and cheap hostels, all within easy reach of Queen Alia Airport.

Amman is ok for business trips, but if you need site seeing you got to go out of Amman. I haven't not experience the night life though to be fair, but I heard it is entertaining depends on your interests if you know what I mean.

A bustling capital with some interesting roads. Drivers like to honk their horn most of the time! I guess because of the congested traffic state.
Old downtown is very nice and offer a great reflection of the Jordanian culture and personality.

Lack of recognizable food chains posed challenging food-searches but overall situation can be manageable. Traffic can be considered an issue and driving in Amman might be tricky (stick to uber / careem apps).
What an amazing hotel and service! We stayed in Jordan only for 4 days but we really enjoyed staying at Khan Khediwe hotel! The location is also great if you want to experience real Amman, there is a market right on the corner!
The staff are very very friendly and show a very good hospitality of all Jordanians!
The room was clean everyday, the receptionists are very helpful and smilie!
They also cared about our 6 months old son and prepared for him baby bed!
Also they park our rent car so we wasn’t worried about the place where to park!
The W Amman hotels exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the time to the most from the check in till checking out. The reciption is faster than I could imagine.
The room was luxurious and clean and tidy. The bathroom and self-cating products where top notch.
The View from the room and outside corridors was unmatched with anything.
Difinitly it was the most enjoyable experience in my life. Keeping in mind I visited plenty of 5 stars hotels around the world. You will not meet such a great hospitality and smiles.
Great Hospitality, Good Breakfast, plenty of food and hot dishes. Great Lunch and Dinner menu options at the restaurant as well. Big and comfortabem rooms. amenities. laundry service. private parking. many stores such a grocery, liquor store, pharmacy nearby, also bus stop. staff incredibly amazing and they are always looking to help you. near downton but not crowded area. This hotel is a Jewel in Amman. 5 stars service. I honestly would say is at least 4 stars hotel.
The hotel is having nice ambience, modern, clean and comfort. The furniture is elegant, comfort bed, full kitchen, good list of TV channel, high speed wifi, free laundry room at 3rd floor, gym, nice small pool and terace, good spread of breakfast, quiet location yet close to shops and restaurants. The staff from front desk, concierge and cleaning are all very kind and know how to serve guests. I will definitely come back to this hotel whenever I visit Amman
Very friendly staff.
The lady we saw in the morning recommended a tour to us to be able to see Amman on our last day in Jordan without being pushy about it. Very friendly, correct information, good price, good English.
Very glad she did this and that we accepted, it made our day so much better and easier.
The hotel is in a good location.
Rooms have everything you need (except maybe a second chair in a room for two people?) And are very good value.
Excellent Stay at MAMAYA Hotel in Downtown Amman, Jordan
I had an exceptional experience at MAMAYA Hotel in downtown Amman. The hostel was clean, safe, and conveniently located near transportation options and downtown. The owners were friendly their kids are lovely. provided valuable recommendations for exploring the city. I highly recommend MAMAYA Hostel for its cleanliness, convenient location, and welcoming atmosphere."
Hotel is located in Downtown Amman, so you can easily get anywhere on foot. Owner was the kindest person I had met in Jordan! He really cares about his customers and helps with everything. Breakfast was very good, food was tasty and fresh. You can also have free tea or coffee anytime. It is possible to park your car in front of the building. Room was clean and air conditioner worked properly.
Very nice boutique hotel that I would recommend to anyone staying in Amman. For the price you get a very modern, very clean and comfortable room. The lobby is lovely and the staff is welcoming. We stayed at the hotel at the end of our 11-day vacation trip in Jordan and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this property that surpassed standards of some big hotels we stayed in 👌
We stayed for 4 nights in Pasha hotel. The location is great to see the major sites in Amman and close to restaurants and down town. We booked several trips through Pasha Hotel although probably could get them cheaper if you shopped around it was more convient and less hassle. The breakfast was very basic same as the rooms. The staff very helpful and always tried there best to help
Really enjoyed staying at Wild Jordan center on our first visit to Amman. I don’t think you’ll find a better quality hotel situated right in the heart of the city - two minutes walk away from main street and Rainbow street. The rooms are spacious and clean with good amenities. The restaurant at the property is exceptional and the staff are eager to serve and please guests.
The Ower and his cousin one of the nicest people I met in Jordan. The hotel is right in the heart of Amman and you can get very good food around the area. The hotel is very cozy, with the best rooftop in the whole city. I enjoined delicious breakfast on the rooftop and also the view at night is spectacular. Highly recommended for all traveller if you plan to visit Amman
The hotel is excellently positioned, right at the heart of downtown, with most attractions within walking distance. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, helping us navigate the city immediately. The rooftop terrace is wonderful. We stayed here twice during our Jordan trip and would definitely recommend the boutique hotel to anyone visiting Amman.
Can't beat this location. Right next door to a brilliant lively souk and just a 5-minute walk from the centre of downtown.
The place was very modern. Large room and comfortable bed.
I've stayed at a few places in Amman, and this hotel is definitely the best. Great value for money.
Super clean. God water pressure. Lovely staff.
As an American, getting to experience a Ritz-Carlton for the first price because of the favorable rates in Amman was an amazing experience. The staff is incredible, the rooms and beds are luxurious and the breakfast is the best I’ve had at a hotel in ages. Would stay here again and recommend it to my friends!
We had a wonderful stay at Amman Marriott Hotel. The service was superb - from reception, to restaurant staff and beyond. The breakfast was the best we've had the the whole of Jordan. Thank you for a fantastic introduction to our Jordan holiday!
We will be back!
Small and cozy hotel in downtown Amman. Excellent location, walking distance to Citadel, Roman theater and Rainbow street, but quiet enough as it is just a bit distant from all crowded and traffic noise. Nice local Jordanian breakfast.
The best hotel in Amman , so comfortable and clean , this is my second time in this hotel , and I like to thank Mr. Mohanad for the welcoming and friendly and professional, and also all the staff in hotel
Among the best hotels I stayed at in Amman. Clean comfortable rooms with reasonable price. But what I liked the most is the welcoming friendly and helpful attitude of front desk people.
