Dong Hoi has some beautiful beaches by the resorts, but there really isn't much else going on. There seemed to be 1-2 streets where you could shop or buy things, and there was no nightlife. Likewise her younger sister and her husband (gave me a lift to the bus station to catch the local bus going to Phong Nha). The room was clean, large and equipped with everything necessary. It was possible for me to rent a bike and basically ride it to Hue :)
