Keflavik is easily overlooked by many whom just go straight to the capital but honestly its such a nice little town, there's enough to see and do to last a decent amount of time and in comparison at least for me was more fun to explore than the capital!

Did not travel to Keflavik, we were there at the airport for a stopover. Thought we could tour a little as we had 10 hours but the cost of the bus fare and taxi was very expensive and for a family of four we decided to stay put. The flights are cheap but everything else, if you are on a budget prepare yourself to spend a lot of money on food and transportation. Very clean place, their tap water is amazing, air is clean. Would love to go back to explore but will have to save a lot to be able to fully enjoy Iceland.

Good location near the airport.
Good location near the airport. We moved here the day before our early morning flight. The friendly lady in reception stored our bags and called a taxi to bring us to Blue Lagoon. We learned that the hotel had a special deal with taxis so we booked the same taxi to bring us back, which gave us a bit of a discount. We took their free airport shuttle very early the next morning. The driver who was also in charge of reception was nice and friendly too.

Don't arrive after 2200hrs.
Don't arrive after 2200hrs. You won't get the room you've paid for. Don't rely on information from staff. They give you inaccurate advice re buses etc. The hotel is a 55km bus ride from Reykjavik - a once hourly service - or a $200 taxi ride each way. There is not even a vending machine to buy a softdrink, crisps etc. This place is an expensive bed and a shower and a 6km (aka AUD$59) taxi ride from the airport. Dont waste your money!

After being dropped off at the airport, I realized I had left my purse in the van. I was able to call the owner and he quickly and generously drove back to the airport to give me my purse. Phew! What an angel! And he didn’t even charge me for the inconvenience of driving back! Super short ride to the airport!

It's a lovely place. Must visit.
It's a lovely place. Must visit. If you have kids under 8 then you might not be able to go to a lot of adventures tours. Food is expensive. Rain is a Scandinavian restaurant where one must go if visiting Iceland.
It was in front of the hotel Keflavik, very nice location. I was able to use the facilities at the hotel as well, like storing my luggage and the breakfast as this was included in my booking. I also used the restaurant for lunch time and the food was amazing. The guesthouse room was very clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were also very tidy, and everything was very well organized. The property is also close to a walking trail as informs by the hotel staff, and is great for solo travelers.
Pawl, the person who checked us in was friendly and spoke perfect English. He told us about the town and what we might want to do. He helped us with our luggage and took us to our room. The room was Comfortable, clean and exceeded my expectations. The breakfast buffet was delicious, well stocked and fresh. Pawl even took us to the airport in the hotel's shuttle. Over all, a very good experience. Thanks Hotel Duus!
This was a great hotel, perfectly located for the airport. Loads of parking, comfortable beds, breakfast from 4am which was incredible.. 24 hour coffee, tea, water etc. My son was delighted that it was located on the old American airbase and kept the feel of the original building. I would definitely use this hotel again when arriving late or leaving early from Keflavik.
Hotel is close to the airport with a free shuttle offered. It is also close to the village centre with restaurants close by. Although you may like to try the restaurant - we had an incredible meal. Also a lovely walk along the broad walk with lovely sculptures and views. Watch up for the funky wall murals :) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Berg
2 minute walk from the airport and from the car rental drop off point.
We arrived at night, dropped off our car, came back on foot and had dinner at the hotel restaurant (huge portions, sharply priced).
Rooms are very quiet.
In the morning we checked in first at the airport and then came back to the hotel to have breakfast.
Really good value for money. Great breakfast and common area. Shared toilet kept very clean. Friendly staff. Lots of sockets in room. I wasn't expecting to but at night we could see the current eruption light up the skyline from a safe distance of the hotel car park. Excellent airport shuttle service.
LOCATION
The guesthouse is very close to not only the airport but also the restaurants of Keflavik - including a grocery store.
CLEANLINESS
While it’s noticeably a bit dated and cheap in some areas, the whole place is exceptionally clean. I was truly impressed by this - especially the bathrooms.
Very close to Keflavik international airport, very friendly receptionist and shuttle bus driver. The large room. It is ok to stay if you need to catch a flight in the morning. The hotel is located in what used to be old Air-force barracks, so the rooms are rather large.
No breakfast.
The shuttle to the airport was very quick and on time/early -- very appreciated. I wish the host had made us aware beforehand that allowing 2 hours before a flight is not adequate at Keflavik.
The late-night check in procedure was clear and easy.
Perfect for airport and early morning flight, our room overlooked the harbour and had a small balcony. the restaurant in the hotel was lovely and food was very very good. reasonable breakfast also included and courtesy bus to the airport. Great for our needs.
This is a charming little hotel near the Keflavik Airport. We really felt like home here and all the little details like bathrobes, coffee and cookies in the common room, hot tub, airport shuttle made our stay perfect.
Thank you so much, Agata and Reynir!
Proximity to the airport and free shuttle starting at 4am. Breakfast starting at 3am.
Our room had a bathroom.
A short walk away there are several restaurant options. The Thai was pretty good and reasonably priced for Iceland with huge portions.
The location of this hotel is convenient for people wanting to stay close to the airport. There were lots of restaurants nearby and a grocery store was a few minutes away. Breakfast of fruit, granola bars, yogurt and juice were provided.
If you have a late arrival or early departure from Keflavik Airport, this hotel is the best one!
Very lovely staff
Very delicious breakfast with too many varieties
Oppotunity to pay by credit card in Euro without ISK exchange issues
The location is in the airport parking lot. You walk out the door and across the parking lot and you are in the airport. The breakfast is served starting very early for travelers to be able to eat before going to their flight.
Nice hotel near Keflavik airport. Reception is not open 24 hours so if you are coming late room key will wait you at the reception desk - functioning fine. Breakfast is self service.
Breakfast was good and dinner too. Liked the convenience of using shuttle bus from airport and picking up and returning rental car at the hotel. Spacious rooms.
