The fixtures and fittings were good quality and the room had been decorated nicely. The cutlery and crockery were an eclectic mix which added the charm of the property and the host had added nice touches like chocolates, mints, and the usual tea / coffee, etc… A coffee percolator was available as a nice touch.
Breakfast items were provided and we cooked croissants and cinnamon rolls from frozen, which were nice, and there was jam and marmalade provided.
The electric shower took a bit of time to work out, but it was good and hot when we did. WiFi was strong and the TV had the normal mix of freeview channels.
The host was lovely and we had a nice chat in the morning as we left. Overall a good stay.

Jody has been a great host. The service provided was really good. Jody allowed us the early check in and also kept our luggage the whole day even after check out. The breakfast served in the morning was excellent and tasty. The location of the property is also very good and bus stand is really closed by, beach is just a 10 mins walk away. Overall our experience by excellent. Would recommend for stay and will love to book again for my stay. Thanks :)

Pam and Jules are incredibly pleasant hosts. Breakfast was excellent, and perfectly cooked by Jules - everything that you could want for choice was there. Bed was comfortable, and the location was perfect - Jules picked me up from the Hovercraft, even though it was an hour late. Will stay here next time I visit the Island - thanks to you both.

I went to Ryde, partly because there's a bus direct from East Cowes and the ferry - I don't take the car - and partly to see more of it. I'm not a beach lover but Ryde beach is good for those that are, and in season there's the pleasure pool etc for kids at the east end of the town. Buses go regularly to Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and Bembridge, and the Island Line Railway also goes to Shanklin, And up and down the pier. There are the hovercraft to / from Southsea, the bus / tram museum and shops to potter in. Eating places - Castle Hotel is good - and wonderful ice creamDougalUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

We were on the island to visit various places so the location did not really matter as we had the car, however having now travelled all around next time we would choose a location with more of a little town environment. There was very little in Ryde.

Ryde buildings and look is tired and needs some refreshing, the train service is, at best, erratic with many cancellations which is annoying if you need to get to Smallbrook Junction. They say you can use the train ticket for the bus but the bus does not go there! However the bus service is good and reliable. It's located in a quiet residential street but is just a few minutes walk away from shops, pubs, restaurants and beaches of the centre of Ryde. The photos on the website didn't really do it justice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. There is a conservatory and a small garden with seating area, which was well-used during the fine weather during our stay. Unfortunately on the Sunday the hotel had to close due to having no water supply. The manager Shaun was able to book us into the Fountain hotel in Cowes. He also covered the cost for the Sunday night and offered us a compensation figure which we excepted.

This hotel is a little oasis of calm - beautiful grounds and one of the best spas I have ever used in a hotel. The lavender sauna cannot be missed!
