The property was well maintained and well equipped with everything you would need for your stay . The property was situated right near all the shops and amenities. The property had a beautiful private court yard which you could use to sit out in , and the owner was happy for us to use it to store our pushbikes in .
Located in Bures-en-Bray, a 40-minute drive from Dieppe, Au Mesnil Le Bas Bray offers B&B accommodation with a garden. Rouen is also a 40-minute drive away.

It’s a beautifully renovated farm house with comfortable and tastefully decorated bedrooms and a seating area. The grounds are well kept and include a pond with ducks and geese. The two dogs were very friendly. Home cooked food was delicious and good value. We were cycling the Avenue Verte to Paris, and it was just a short detour to reach the house.

We booked a table for dinner and the menu was really good. Better than we expected! And the wine list was extensive. The breakfast was also fabulous with plenty of choice and lots of fruit and croissants (huge!) of course.

The town was rebuilt in 1940's after extensive war damage and today is a busy market town with lots of good shops and restaurants and an excellent place to stay and explore on foot or by bike along the many miles of the Avenue Verte (former railway line converted to a wonderful rural pathway) the beautiful Normandy countryside of the Pays de Bray with upland beech woods, rolling pastoral farm fields (source of the milk for the heart-shaped and very creamy Neufchatel cheese) and lowland cerial crops. It is a working town and not a tourist centre (which we very much prefer) with multiple facilities but few historic buildings following war damage yet its people are very welcoming and service provision excellent.

This is underrated town only two hours from port and two hours from Paris...has McDonalds in LeClerc area with delicious potato wedges...also for authentic French cuisine try the Chapeau Rouge opposite the church...Super U and Leclerc supermarkets are in centre of town and try a fantastic reasonable restaurant at Les Airelles hotel in the very centre. This is bustling French town surrounded by rolling countryside...cows are happily grazing on hills in front of Super U...a lot of people use town as a stop off but would recommend a longer stay ...there is weekly market. There is of course the famous heart cheese..delicious..cycle routes etc..wedding location..at Cellier du Val Boury...

Neufchâtel-en-Bray is a lovely little Town with a speciality for soft cheese. It's quiet at night with very little light pollution and ample free parking at the back of the main street. Food is excellent, perfect for an overnight stop off after a day at the Normandy D-Day Beaches.

Les Airelles in Neufchâtel-en-Bray was a ‘must’ stopover on...
Les Airelles in Neufchâtel-en-Bray was a ‘must’ stopover on our way back to Calais and the UK. We had been to the restaurant before and the food is just superb. If you are in Neufchâtel you would be bonkers not to dine here to taste the best of Normandy.
We had not stayed at the hotel part before, but this is really just an adjunct for the restaurant. Our room was spacious (we had the one room with a balcony on the first floor) and comfortable. Although it is rated as 2 Star I don’t know why because it had a pleasant atmosphere, comfortable bed and a good sized en suite bathroom. We slept well and it was quiet despite being in the centre of the town. The breakfast was a delicious French style breakfast.
But back to the best bit – the restaurant. We had the ‘Tradition’ menu at Euro 36. The Assiette de patience was a Foie gras brulee, then I had Foie gras a la Normande which had apple and calvados layers whilst my wife had Salad de Gambas (giant succulent prawns). The palate refresher was green apple sorbet with calvados (positively dreamy!). We both had Filet de sandre sauce a l’orange; a beautiful filet of Zander in a delicate orange sauce. Of course we had the cheese course including the famous Neufchatel cheese and then for dessert my wife had three sorbets and I had Tiramisu Normande which replaced the traditional biscuit with caramelised apples in a creamy sauce.
The service was perfectly timed and professional and the wine (a Pouilly-Fumé) quite delicious. A perfect last meal at the end of a wonderful holiday in France.

Visit the Church in the high street and the market if it is open. This town paid a heavy price during the Allied invasion and there are photos and written information in the High Street near the Church.

Lots of car parking on the street and behind the hotel in a great street with lots of individual shops.
The owner speaks very good English and goes out of the way to ensure you have a good stay. The evening meal was excellent and we enjoyed a drink in the bar.
Room is beautifully decorated and bed very comfortable.
A great stop after travelling from uk by Eurotunnel, we hope to stay again on the return journey
I liked the friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. There was a safe place to store cycles (the hotel is just off the Avenue Verte). The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was basic but adequate. A good place for dinner a popular restaurant and bar.
The restaurant is surprisingly good: both the food and the service. The hotel is easy to find and this town is a good location for people who want to take the Eurotunnel into England in the morning. There is parking nearby although not precisely at the hotel.
On our way up north this hotel was able to provide us with a very welcome and pleasurable stop-over. The room was clean and its size just perfect for us as a family of three. The hotel restaurant serves some great food!
Lovely hotel, friendly welcome. Nice bar, stayed for dinner too which was very good. Travelling by bike and they stored them in their garage. Hearty breakfast...all good.
Room was quiet, a good size, located on first floor. Restaurant was really good and breakfast good too. Parked at the rear of the hotel which was fine.
