The place is a perfect getaway away from the hustle and bustle of Aswan (and much needed). The pool is nice and the atmosphere is lovely. You can swim in the Nile too! The manager upgraded our room free of charge and provided takeaway breakfasts for us when we had to leave at 4am for a flight. Would 100% recommend if you have a few days and want to relax. Best place to stay in the area hands down.

We had a disturbing experience of harassment. While the receptionist was showing my sister-in-law to the room she would stay in, he harassed her with his hand. After checking out of the hotel, when my sister-in-law told me that she was being harassed, I did not get any results although I contacted the hotel manager and sent an e-mail to booking.com.

I love all of it! The location is perfect, the house is just beautiful with all the nice colors and paintings and amazing views to the Nile. I stayed in a very comfortable and big room with a small balcony. The staff is very friendly and helpful specially Aya and Tamer. And Tamer even speaks a bit of Spanish which is not common in Egypt. The breakfast is amazing as well as the Egyptian food options available if you want to have lunch or dinner. It is very nice to walk around the streets of the Nubian village and there is a local market very close where you can find lots of nice things.

Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.

A very beatiful place to relax and enjoy the sun during winter.
We felt very safe and happy.
The local market is great it has unique and authentic goods.
The philae Temple is great it has spots to take photos and great views.
We enjoyed the Botonical Garden very much as it has plants from all over the world.
The feluca ride is one of the best things we enjoyed but first you have to agree on the price.

Tombs of the Nobles were really neat if you can make it over to the other bank. Watch out for the camel guys there though. We got roped into $50 camel rides.
Aswan was probably our least favorite stop in Egypt. Harassment by salespeople was higher here than at the Great Pyramids, and much higher than Luxor! We couldn't walk anywhere at anytime of the day without a salesperson walking with us for several blocks. And as soon as they were done, someone else would take over. Its too bad, I think the corniche could be a really pretty walk!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
I didn’t realize that the hotel was undergoing a little construction. It looked like they were upgrading their ramp. This meant we had to carry our bags up the stairs to the lobby.
The property is beautiful and has a terrific view of the town and we could see the Nile from our room. The restaurant was very good- we had dinner there.
BTW the construction noise never bothered us. We couldn’t hear it at all.

If you are doing the Initiatic path, Elephantine Island is so perfect. We stayed at Mango Tree (feel like exotic move stars) and Nubian Dreams (also a restaurant but we scored their top floor room and that is super fun) We also stayed at Nubian Palace, oh my gosh. Take a little private ferry and go to that place. Its so memorable. Philae temple was set up from our host at Nubian Palace (which we usually never do but she is a badass and handles it so you don't have to negotiate to and from the ferry marina) Stay on the west bank. Never the east. Its so loud and full of hustle. The west bank is like real Egypt. Lovely. Easy to start the temple path to Abu Simbel by hopping on a local large bus. Fun, cheap, easy. (Its a little more coming back but its all very cheap so be nice and accept the system) From here you can take a train, bus or private taxi to Kom Ombo and Edfu as you make your way to Luxor. (ALSO STAY ON THE WEST BANK in luxor) What a lovely quiet and profoundly spiritual adventure.
Everything! The location, the lovely exterior and interior design with so much attention to detail, the crazily welcoming and supportive staff was just out of this world - also compared to all the other places we stayed at in Egypt, including five star hotels. We especially loved the many peaceful outdoor gathering places to relax, chill out, read, talk or have a tea :). Everything was super clean, and the breakfast with a view was a selection of the finest local food. Hatem in particular made a huge effort to make us feel like at home.
I love the vibrant colors of the hotel and their food is also amazing.
Everyone there is very helpful to us specially with the luggage and other things we need.
they also arrange our trip to abu simbel and trip to Philae temple and even help us with our trip to luxor. I also love the nile river view and how peaceful it is to stay there. away from the crowd and noise from the city.
Special thanks to Mr. Qasem for taking care of us in our entire 2 days stay aswan.
And also, I'm in love with their floating restaurant.
This hotel is really good, in particular when compared to other hotels in Aswan/Egypt. The location is on an island in the Nile, so you will need to get there with the boat, which was actually very easy. Rooms are pretty big and really clean, with solid view on the Nile, depending on your position. I did not understand which rooms are the ones with the nice balcony and the Nile view, but most of them aren't. There is a heated swimming pool outdoor, so you can swim even if the temperature is not that high.
Enjoyed a fantastic stay at a hotel with friendly staff, particularly Kareem, who fulfilled all our requests with a smile. The rooms were clean. The terrace restaurant offered affordable, fresh local cuisine and shisha. We really enjoyed it!
The well-planned Abu Simbel Temple tour included an early breakfast meal box, allowing us to avoid crowds and explore leisurely.
Overall, a delightful experience in Aswan thanks to the hotel's excellent service and thoughtful arrangements. Highly recommended!
This is a lovely chilled out place on the very relaxing Elephantine Island. A beautiful oasis from the hectic rest of Aswan. Everything was really clean and convenient. The staff helped us arrange a trip to Abu Simbel. The ferry across from Aswan is quick and very cheap, I'd 100% recommend staying on the island, it's so lovely and will give you a chance to rebuild your energy between forrays into Aswan and other parts of Egypt!
Everyone here (especially the owner) is super nice, hospitable, & accommodating. A very nice sit down included breakfast in their dining room located in their immense lobby. The rooms are a good size. This is a classic hotel that could use some renovation but it is very comfortable and welcoming. The location is right at the Aswan Market and less than a 10 minute walk from the train station.
This is a best place to stay in Aswan, for a cheap price you get nice and clean room, the host is very kind and helped us a lot, definitely the best deal I’ve made in Egypt and you even get a good breakfast. Don’t be afraid of the neighbourhood after the first sight, people from Aswan are nice and welcoming, just beware of the store on the corner, the owner’s brother tried to rob us.
Everything! The most beautiful and peaceful view of Aswan. The room is really comfortable and big with an amazing view. The staff is the best we had in our travel in Egypt, Hares and Mustapha were sincerely helpful and reactive. It’s the only place in Egypt where we feel only good vibes (not selling anything, tours, etc). We will recommend to my family and friends without doubts!
Staff especially Reko is very friend and help with everything such as your or text booking but there’s always room for negotiation. The best thing about the guest house is the view, I see Nile from my window. it’s located in elephantine island which means you will need to prepare 5 Egyptian pounds each time for ferry but it runs every 3-5 min so it’s not an issue.
An amazing hotel in a quiet neighbourhood on Elephantine Island. The rooftop terrace is breezy and the view of the Nile is spectacular. Our room was very comfortable and large. Nearby there are restaurants serving great food. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. The owner kindly organized an excellent Nile cruise at a budget price. Great place in Aswan.
Amazing view from the terrace on Aswan and the Nile. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful: Our request for a late checkout was no problem. The room was nice with a comfortable king-size bed. The room was satisfyingly clean. The breakfast was amazing though you have to go downstairs to the "regular" Basma hotel.
We could forgive a lot of the crumbling infrastructure for that beautiful shaded terrace just steps from the Nile, the best place to be in Aswan. Food and staff in dining room good. Our Nile side room had a wide view of the river. We did not have to take a boat to this hotel, as with other hotel options.
The location is great, the hotel is on an island and to get there is a short boat ride. The staff was very nice specially Ms Christeen Geres who helped us modify our reservation and gave us an upgrade room with magnificent views.
Thank you and see you on our next visit to beautiful Egypt
The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. They provide us many advices and travel information. The room is clean and comfortable. Also, there is a lovely dog in the hotel and she’s super cute. We highly recommend who would like to have a peaceful journey in Aswan come to this hotel.
we returned to Philae hotel after a multi-day trip to Abu Simbel, and much appreciated the early check-in they could accommodate, as well as having stored some of our luggage in between.
Very comfortable room, great shower, and having a water kettle always is a plus.
This is one of the top ten hotels I’ve ever stayed out and I travel all over the world regularly. Everything is perfect. The staff is amazing, the hotel room, the food and views. It’s really top among hotels for me. You must stay here if you visit Aswan.
Beautiful room, clean and great facilities. One of the best 5 star hotels. There was a wide selection for their buffet breakfast. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
Absolutely fabulous in every respect... A destination in itself, there was a day we didn't leave the place; just soaked it all in. Far and away the best hotel in Egypt.
