We loved biking through the jungle to get there with the bikes provided and spent as much time as possible there during our stay. The water is some of the best we've every swam in and we loved having it mostly to ourselves for a quiet reset. Something to note about the accommodation is that there is no fridge available for guest use. There is a great restaurant onsite but it's not always open so if you need food in between meals be sure to bring things that don't need to be refrigerated. We slept extremely well in our cabin. It stayed pretty cool at night without AC and the bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed talking to other guests from around the world in the common areas. The shared bathroom was clean. Buenavista is a tiny town with friendly residents that we really loved. There isn't much in terms of restaurants and shops but we appreciated the local bodega for cold cervezas. We had a rental car and visited Bacalar once which was nice but we really enjoyed staying in the quiet paradise of Buenavista for most of our time there. This isn't for someone looking for nightlife, a perfectly maintained tourist zone, or a resort setting. We enjoy camping so the elevated rustic style of glamping was a great fit for us.
