We were a group of 3 doing the whisky trail and ended up on Islay. What a wonderful property to stay at, on the island. The hotel is in a very good location, very near to the Port Ellen Ferry terminal. There are restaurants, a pub and a convenient store nearby. We had the family room which had 3 separate beds and a folding bed. The room was very spacious, well appointed and clean. There was plenty of natural light and the windows are very well placed to allow for cross-ventilation. Heating in the room was perfect. The bathroom is fairly large and roomy, very clean and had all basic amenities like body wash, shampoo, overnight kit, etc. The shower has fantastic water pressure and hot & cold water are seamless and the controls easy to manage. The beds are quite comfortable and offered a very good night's sleep. Although, the property is right by the main road there is hardly any disturbance from the street below. There is daily housekeeping and it's nice to come back to clean sheets and fresh towels. Excellent choices available for breakfast, which is a table service, but unlimited. A lot of pluses staying at this property.

Room: cleanliness & amenities felt like a hotel, decor felt like home, perfect mix Food/bar: local bar is right downstairs (but split from the hotel side if you just need entrance/exit), what else could you want. Food was really good as well. They also have a sister restaurant that books out down the street! This is our favorite hotel that we've ever stayed at. Can't wait to go back, thank you to everyone at Lochindaal!

Port Charlotte Hotel is located in Port Charlotte on the shore of Loch Indaal. The conservatory and gardens open onto a sandy beach. This is a very quaint, pretty , beautiful experience of staying in an historic hotel. It was beautifully decorated for Xmas and other guests and locals visiting the bar were friendly and fun. Food was great. Tv struggled. Breakfasts were fantastic especially the scrambled eggs and salmon. Loved having Marion play piano accordion on our last night. Thanks to Henry for organising. Was very special.

Fantastic cooked breakfast, you won’t be hungry when you leave the breakfast room! The location by the bay is very good, with a pub just next door and two restaurants not far.

Lochside hotel is situated in Bowmore and features a terrace. Featuring luggage storage space, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Free WiFi is available. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent! loved the location it was close to shops and restaurants. The staff were excellent.

The room was cozy and very comfortable, with a bit of modern and designers touch. The location is great, literally close to everywhere tourist need in a short walk distance (bars, restaurants, the Bowmore distillery, local shops) and with a plenty of parking space. The homemade breakfast with a wide variety of ingredients for choice was delicious and helped to start a day in a right mood. But the real gem was a pair of lovely and very responsive hosts, Brigit & George, that were there for every need and gave very useful tips and recommendations.
