Situated in Leticia, 2.9 km from Tabatinga, Hostal La Esperanza features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. All rooms have a TV with cable channels. Our stay was super nice! The family that owns the hotel are very friendly & welcoming and the rooms are very comfortable & clean. There was a fan and also AC which we could use in the evenings which made everything much easier as it's very hot and humid in Leticia. The room is equipped with everything you may need and very well taken care of. There was housekeeping, which was super helpful, as it rains a lot and it gets muddy so it's easy to get everything a bit dirty. We were very happy with our stay and appreciated the nice atmosphere and welcoming attitude. There is a shop directly by the hotel and the centre is like a 20 minute walk away, but it's a nice walk and not too difficult. The hotel is super close to the airport, which is very practical, as you can just walk directly when you arrive, and it's not noisy. We absolutely recommend it!

the atmosphere, and the people was so friendly. Downside is the lack of using creditcards. Touroperator across the street opposit Waira Hotel, arranged wellorganized tours on the Amazonas.
Of the tours, I have only tried kayaking and I regret to say that I do not recommend it. It is not particularly interesting and everything becomes clear after the first few minutes, but the main concern is biological security. They do not even know that water stoppers should be used on the paddle, so you will be slowly filling your kayak with dropping amazonian water and eventually sit in the resulting pond — chances to catch parasites are low but not negligible, if you are unlucky, consequences can be severe. At the same time, I do recommend crossing the Amazon to Peru on a boat service (5000 if you travel solo). I also definitely recommend the restaurant Tierras Amazonas in Leticia. To the contrary, eating in Tabatinga is not a good choice.
The town itself offers not mucht to do but you will be going there anyway only to see the Amazonas and the forests.
Good entry point into Amazonas. Interesting to be able to walk into Brazil just down the road. Some dodgy characters down by the port at night.
Leticia
Everything, you feel like home. Huge thanks to the owner Jonathan and Romel who's working with him, amazing people. They're paying attention to everything you need, super careful. The hostel is new and clean and has a big garden with hamacs and chill spots, adorable cats, and all the facilities you need to cook, relax, meet people and enjoy Amazonas. Cherry on the cake, you can get a tattoo there (did my first one with Jonathan!). I stayed there much more longer than expected and I'm leaving it with regrets. Love you guys!
Carlos and Zoraida made our stay perfect. We had good communication beforehand and they accommodated our family perfectly. The hotel is perfectly located with respect to all trips we wanted to do. Carlos arranged everything for us with professionalism and took great care of us. I wouldn't imagine going anywhere else in Colombian Amazonas. The place is quiet, the pool great after hot days in the jungle, the food offers fresh fish and fruits from the region. I will come back to Eware for sure
I spent a wonderful week here, in the middle of the nature surrounded by animals and great people. The hostel is a short walk from the town, so it´s very quiet and you can hear all "jungle sounds" well during nights. :-)) Fraile is an amazing host, always takes care if you have everything and enjoying your time. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone, I had a great time there, met many other travelers, did a lot of tours and just really enjoyed my Amazonas experience. :-)
Leticia
La Ceiba Amazonas is a family run business in the Colombian Amazon village of Mocagua. It is a beautiful location and the rooms are clean, with gorgeous views, hammocks, and outdoor seating to watch the sunset. The guides and host, Clara, are all incredibly open with their knowledge and really make this place special.
Perfect location, the breakfast was excellent and the staff really kind. The hotel has it’s own tour agency which is very convenient if you want to do excursions in the amazonas.
The ambiance of the hotel was relaxing and welcoming.
sleeping in the middle of the Amazon Jungle, we just loved it! it’s a place to disconnect from daily life and to feel the connection with nature again.
food was good and facilities were great. Little pricey for Colombia
A great option in Leticia. Rooms are spacious, relatively quite and the airconditioning works great! We even had quite hot water in the shower. The pool is also very refreshing and a great escape from the noisy town.
The service was exceptional!!!!
Wonderful location right off the river and a nature reserve directly behind it - great potential with different owners or management
Everything was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and clean. We had a wonderful experience there.
The most amazingly helpful staff and beautiful location.
I loved everything of this hotel: the location, the staff, the room, the breakfast. could not recommend enought. there is a roof top that have a wonderful view over the amazon river. we loved it.
This place is a beautiful but rustic spot next to the Amazon river. The food was very good, usually fish from the river. At night the jungle birds and frogs sing you to sleep. It’s not a place for the squeamish, we had a tarantula on our ceiling, but the mosquito nets work well and you really get a chance to be surrounded by the Amazon rain forest. The tours they offer are very reasonably priced, but there are also plenty of places to just hang out and enjoy the nature. The common areas were very social and we had some great conversations with the other guests. Also, the staff was especially welcoming and made us feel at home right away. It was really cool to be able to talk to people who live in the Amazon and hear a little bit about daily life here. Overall, this was a huge highlight for us.
When we decided to go to the Amazonas region in Colombia we were hoping for a real jungle experience, to be surrounded by nature and to see animals. But we didn't expect the amazing and unforgettable time we would have at Reserva Tucuchira. To get there by boat and then later walk to the lodge from the river takes a while, but is already an experience in itself as you walk directly into the jungle. We were welcomed very warmly and instantly felt very safe and comfortable. The accomodation is basic (no electricity, shower with saved rain water outside) but that's part of what makes it great and authentic: we had a nice double room with a big bed + mosquito net and waking up with a direct view into the jungle so we could see monkeys from our bed :-). The food is nice and they really tried to make us enjoy our stay (they even made extra veggie options although being a vegetarian is not common in Colombia). We also felt very welcome in the community of Santa Sofia that is the village close to the lodge and the people there told us a lot about their culture as indigenous and how they try to preserve their language and rituals. They even invited us to celebrate new years eve with them in the community. We could really feel how much they love their home and the nature and we fell in love with it too! There are a lot of different tours offered and the guides always take care to give you the best possible experience. Our highlight was camping in the jungle in hammocks where they cooked over the open fire for us as well as going kayaking on the Amazon river to see pink dolphins. If you want to disconnect and really feel what its like to live in the Amazonas this is exactly the right place for you!
Beautiful hotel- with super friendly staff
