Location was excellent, close to the river and all the activity and restaurants. The room was lovely with views out onto the river and breakfast was excellent with lots of choice each day. The reception staff were most helpful and helped us to organize some tours. We always looked forward to having a drink in the bar at the end of the day and Joao in particular was so pleasant and friendly and he is certainly and a great asset for the hotel.

Porto is a beautiful city with so much to do!
Great food, friendly people, beautiful views and everything is reasonably priced!
Quite a hilly city so be mindful if you have any mobility issues, however Uber is easy to use to assist you!
Must watch the sunset from Jardim de Morro!

Despite Porto being rather hilly, there are many sights in close proximity and easily accessible on foot. We loved soaking in the culture and atmosphere of Porto as we interacted with local people, walked around and explored the neighborhoods, churches, the fabulous architecture and amazing tiles on walls and pavements and marvelled at history told in tile art, such as at Sao Bento station. We loved trying traditional food like the sublime Pasteis de nata, the filling francesinha and fresh seafood and we visited the local market and little local restaurants. We did a tour to beautiful viewpoints like the monastery, we strolled along the scenic Douro River and had delicious fish soup at the beachfront. Livraria Lello was also a highlight. You can see a lot in two days, but we wished we could stay longer in Porto!

The people were open, friendly and courteous.
The people were open, friendly and courteous. There seemed to be less stress than we have experienced in other cities and this was very apparent on the roads. We never felt ill at ease.
The level of English is exceptional.
The range and quality of foods is very good with something for everyone.
The old centre is astonishingly small, so much can be done comfortably on foot but with much climbing: the city is built on a steep hillside but there is an excellent funicular.
The staff was very friendly and helpful! they helped us with making sure our train from Lisbon is not delayed and were happy to direct us to some services we needed during our stay.
beautiful spacious apartment, very clean, kitchen well equipped including dishwasher and laundry machine. comfy beds.
The apartments are perfectly located in a central, but quiet area. walking distance from metro and bus stations.
This is the best place we stayed at during our trip to Portugal
My favorite place we stayed in all of Portugal!! The apartment was beautiful, sparkling clean and so comfortable that it was hard to leave. Rita gave us an in-depth review of Porto with many of her recommendations. The bottle of wine when we checked in and the pastel de nata hanging on our door on our last day were really sweet touches. Also, the apt is really centrally located and everything we wanted to see was in easy walking distance. Can’t recommend this place enough!!
Way a place, right at the old train station! A great old buildings. Nice clean big bathrooms. But the staff! Good breakfast and cooking area. But the staff! Fun activities at night, stay for Thursday "Portugal folk dancing" FUN local group comes in. Did a say anyone about the staff! Of Crouse will probably have different long trem volunteers. Cause mine where GREAT!! THANKS Thomas and CREW I had a blast!!! Short 8 nights in Porto
The best hotel I have to in Portugal. The property is in an amazing location: very central, yet out of the touristic chaos. I could see the Dom Luis Bridge from my room! The breakfast is nice and the restaurant offers very nice food (and it's relatively well-priced, considering it's a hotel offer... But please, no more herbs in the Club Sandwich ;) ).
Would definitely recommend and if I go back to Porto, that's where I want to stay!
Great apartment with air conditioning, which was super helpful in the hot Portugal summer. Beds were comfortable and there was a small kitchen (which we did not really use so can’t comment on its utility). Location is great, some breweries and good pizza place very close by. Close to the Trinidade metro station too. Friendly and flexible host. As an fyi, the tourist tax needs to be paid in Euros and not credit card.
This was the best room I stayed in during our time in Portugal.
Great size, comfortable beds and was very clean.
I really enjoyed visiting the bar on the 17th floor which had a fantastic view of the city.
Hotel was close to the city centre and bars/nightclubs.
Would definitely stay here again, if I ever returned to Porto.
Among the hotels we visited during our trip to Portugal, this one truly stood out as one of the best. The room was impeccably clean, and the staff was exceptionally kind. Notably, the bed in this hotel was extraordinarily comfortable. If we ever return to Porto, there's no doubt we'll choose this hotel again.
We had upgraded rooms. Very comfortable, newly equipped. Very comfortable beds and quality facilities in the room. Very good sound insulation. The balcony door opens wide, making it very cozy. Wonderful breakfast (best of all the hotels visited in Portugal during our trip), very friendly and helpful staff.
The place is DARLING. My room was awesome. The staff was very helpful. The bartender (Daniel) and waitstaff (Bills, was his nickname) were SOOO nice and accommodating! The restaurant is fabulous. The courtyard was lovely. I was traveling solo for this part of my Portugal trip and it was perfect!
The Alma hotel is Wahoo!! The best hotel in Portugal!! Perfect location to visit Porto by walk. The studio is so beautiful, confortable and cosy. We feel like at home. The hotel is even more beautiful than in the pictures. Every detail is perfect and the staff is amazing. Especially Diogo! :-)
Just a huge room compared to our previous accommodations during our trip through Portugal. Very spacious bathroom, there's a fridge with a snack bar, and a kettle with a selection of tea and coffee provided by the hotel.
A very good European breakfast is in place.
Overall, a worthy hotel.
This hotel its really good! We stayed in one of this in Turkey and we loved, thats why we came back to this one in Portugal. Its a really good hotel. Good bed, shower and the location of this one its really close to the metro as well. I definitely would come back again.
I needed to find a pharmacy but it was a bank holiday in Portugal the day we checked in. The manager phoned around to find an open pharmacy and then their driver drove me to the pharmacy and waited while I got what I needed. I have never had service like that before!
Excellent staff gave us a very warm welcome and a ton of advice when we arrived. Including eating at the restaurant a few doors from the hotel. The restaurant was the best we experienced in Portugal. We had a suite at the back which was quiet and comfortable
It's a very social hostel you'll get to meet a lot of people in the common area, they also provide dinner at a cheap cost with sangria! Location is great, super close to a lot of sightseeing spots. There's an elevator which is quite rare in Portugal I guess
The location - superb!
The staff- amazing! They have so much pride in Portugal & in The Poets Inn. They are so kind & helpful.
Soooo clean. So private and comfortable.- if you want action it's just around the corner but it is so quiet and secure.
best hotel in town, and I've tried many as I travel to Portugal for work every month. Super good location, infrastructure, lovely and helpful personnel, extremely clean. 10/10!
