The holiday home comes with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a balcony with mountain views. The comfortable, air-conditioned accommodation also comes with soundproofing and a fireplace. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. The apartment was fully provided with all the things needed to live there and the host gave us a tour of the place as well as explanations of the gas stove and other amenities. Food was provided as well. The village of Melo is quiet, the people friendly. There was historic buildings and it was the former home of a famous Portuguese writer. The host had little English and we had little Portuguese, but we were able to communicate through hand signals and also by text, as our phones translated the texts. She also spoke French. A washing machine was at the apartment, though no drier, but a drying rack was provided, which worked well to dry our clothes.
