Conveniently accessible but DIRTY beaches. Tons of mosquitos after rain that were absolutely savage. Great people and architecture. Had it's ups and downs. Easy to get around town. Partner loved the pleasure pier rides.

Galveston was beautiful and interesting.
Galveston was beautiful and interesting. Boat tours for dolphin watching and sunset tour were amazing (except both tours were cut short). Lots of great places to dine. Museums were absolutely amazing. Traveling was easy to all the places we wanted to see. The ferry to other islands is an adventure you must see. Be sure when you book a hotel that you don't get one that has hidden fees like the Clarion.

I took my grandkids down so they could go on a cruise. Stayed 1 night but it was wonderful, except for the weather. Too windy & rainy, but we were able to get out & walk a little. The grandkids walked along the beach & gathered sea shells.

I love the small town feel with so much to do.
I love the small town feel with so much to do. Be careful where you stay. There are some good deals on hotels, but, check the reviews before you book your room.
There are so many beaches that you have good access to.
We are motorcycle riders. There is a really cool bar on the beach called Woody's. Great views, friendly bar tenders.
We ate at Doc Holiday's. The food was phenomenal. Try their pulled pork burger! You better be hungry.
There are a lot of cool places to party right across the street from the beach.

Love it here. Have stayed several times.
Love it here. Have stayed several times. I love to stay on the Seawall close to the beach. Galveston is a beautiful city with wonderful old architecture and lots of shops and restaurants to satisfy every one.
The beds were quite comfortable and I was happy with the AC in our room. It kept us cool during a very hot time in Galveston. Parking garage was nice to have close and kept the car cool and out of the sun. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location to the beach was excellent. A short walk across the street and you were on the beach.
Breakfast was nice to have available even if it was the same everyday and not the best quality. Need more selection on fruit, only mandarin oranges were available. Also need bagels.
We loved the big pool and hot tub, and the cute bar next to it. We travelled with kids, and they loved exploring it and jumping in. Hotel is right across the street from the beach and near to restaurants. The breakfast was characterful, and there was a nice outside place to sit in to eat, next to some outdoor games. The room is a bit dated, but was plenty for what we wanted, and it was nice we could fit 6 of us in the room. The ocean view rooms overlook the pool.
The bed was amazing ! very comfortable, beautiful swimming pool, Wonderful friendly staff, my room was upgraded for no extra charge.
Just a very pleasurable visit to Galveston, and the Galvez Hotel is an amazing place to stay for that visit, I've been here before and I will come back again, besides the facilities being the best, the Hotel Galvez have such a friendly helpful staff just makes this the best way to experience, the beauty of the ocean and hotel.
lockbox entry, good wifi, comfortable beds and couch. The pillows were good quality but VERY thick, making for a slightly difficult sleep (I acknowledge this may be personal preference). The house was clean and charming, although maybe too many doodahs for decoration that didn't add to the charms of the place.
Liked it a lot, although several minutes' drive from most activities in Galveston. Quiet neighbourhood and close to a nice beach.
Omg, we will stay here every time we venture to Galveston. We have stayed at multiple places and even with the construction going on, it was the best
JOEY the bartender was a riot and made our trip even better. We literally would come back just to see him again. View from the room was unexpected and awesome. The placement of the hotel is perfect as you can walk across the street and be at the beach with the view of Murdochs and the Pier.
I always stay at this Hotel. Once every 3 weeks on average. I've developed a good report with many of the staff their.
I always look forward to seeing the front desk staff, they know me now after becoming a regular. The bartenders, and their available "Ecuadorian Man Slave" which is an unknown feature at this hotel!
Seriously, I cant wait till I come back to Hilton Galveston. I truly is like coming home for me!
Great breakfast choices. Definitely won’t leave the morning hungry. Location is ideal for those looking for an awesome ocean view. Walk across the street and you are on the beach. Been to Galveston many times and we stay at Hilton Home 2 Suites every time. Won’t even consider a different hotel.
Got double booked and didn’t even stay there, slept in our vehicle the first night we were in Galveston with a 4 month old baby because of this and everything else was already booked up even hotels… do better Booking.Com. Nothing towards the house because we didn’t even get to see it!
This is a reasonably priced comfortable & quiet
hotel just steps to the beach.
There was ample parking available.
The hotel reception staff is professional and
friendly. My room was clean and spacious.
I would definitely stay here again when visiting
Galveston.
The staff was so friendly and always smiling and greeting. No one bothers you during your stay. Everything was very very clean. The pool was clean at all times. Hot tub also. Def sticking with this hotel for our Galveston stays!
Breakfast was very good as was the dining room. The options changed daily, all delicious.
The hotel is in an excellent location for walking around the Galveston town. Make sure you tap into Rick and Kathy's local knowledge.
I've stayed at this same hotel since it was the Beachcomber Inn every year since 2009. I never stay anywhere else. It's affordable, and a convenient location, and has everything I need. The rooms do look a bit nicer now.
We love staying here when we come to Galveston the hotel is clean staff is friendly and the location is great. We like to fish on the pier and the hotel is right around do the corner from it. Breakfast was good as well
The room was comfortable, quiet, the guy at the desk was very nice and made us feel welcome
The coffee tasted great the breakfast was really good.
The best place I've stayed in Galveston so far out of 4 hotels!
The view of the ocean was good. From the online listing it sounds like it is right on the beach, but it's not. No hotels can be right on the beach because of the sea wall. Everything is across the street
So much styrofoam and wasted plastic…the hotel is on the ocean…plastic and styrofoam are already killing our oceans…compostable…reusable…there are other choices. it made me sad.
It was well located on the beach but not in the supper busy area. It was great to see that breakfast was normal and not using Covid as an excuse to go cheap. Well done.
