Although it's considered the oldest inhabited city of the Americas and Peru's historical capital, neither of these truly describes the magic enchantment and colorful people of Cuzco. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its current shape is the colonial result of building on top of many Incan sites, a good example of which is the Cathedral of Santo Domingo.
Must-see places include the walled complex of Sacsayhuamán and the remains of the main temple of Coricancha, dedicated to the Sun God, Inti. For longer Cuzco stays, hotels nePlaza de Armas central square are ideal to fully enjoy the city. Due to its 11,150-foot altitude, some Cuzco hotels offer oxygen to help their guests.
Moray, supposedly an ancient experimental agricultural station, is 29 miles away, and Lake Titicaca is 240 miles away. The road to Machu Picchu is the famous Inca Trail or "Camino Inca," which encompasses settlements, different Andean environments, and many Incan ruins.
Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport offers services to Lima. Arriving at Wanchaq Train Station or Terminal Terrestre de Cusco bus station are also popular choices. Come to visit the ancient jewel, enjoy Peru and Cuzco with the hotel deals available on Booking.com!
Getting around Cusco was easy. We are walkers and we love to see the typical markets and amazing museums. Its people are friendly and helpful. Any question was answered when we just ask anyone around. Restaurants? Mother of God! Delicious, too many options to choose from. From simple restaurants to fancy ones and the best: beautiful women in the street with cooked corn and pineapple slices to sale.

Cusco is one of my favorite cities in Peru.
Cusco is one of my favorite cities in Peru. It is a photographers dream, almost every you look there is a chance to take a wonderful travel photo while walking around, the old city is an absolute joy. No mater how long I have stayed in Cusco it has been too short and I always want to return to see things I have missed. However, it is a good idea to book a hotel which offers heat in the rooms as it can get rather chilly at night in the cold season.

It´s one of the most beatiful cities I've visited. I love the landscape view, people is very kind and it has a lot of activities to do. I stay in Cusco a very short time, but I enjoy it as much as I could. I visited San Blas viewpoint, the Church and Rainbow Mountain, but my favorite place without no doubt was Machu Picchu.

I've been to Cusco several times over the past 25 years and...
I've been to Cusco several times over the past 25 years and also lived here for longer periods and for work. It's always been a hub as there is so much to see and do in and around town. Plan a week there, and you won't be bored. It's a buzzing place, there is such an abundance to choose from (tours, trips, hikes, walks, ruins, accommodation, markets, souvenirs and of course destinations like Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail), it's almost too much. You can do parties and clubs, or enjoy the quiet places, walk the ruins up the hills in nature with stunning views of high cordilleras the beautiful Andean scenery and enjoy the peacefulness in the company of some lamas and alpacas. I found that post-Covid the locals are still struggling with the lack of tourism. Nowadays the markets are better organised and have mainly been moved to indoor facilities over the past decades, tourists often don't know about them, e.g. in Pisac, and the locals suffer from few clients and low business. The regulations around Machu Picchu are ridiculous and overpriced; while it's good some rules are in place to deal with the amount of tourism, it has taken all the joy out of visiting the ruins. There are plenty of equally great alternatives though, if you find MP too expensive, don't want to plan half a year in advance or simply don't enjoy the crowds, go to Pisac instead, walk the full hike, or Choquequirao if you want a multi-day experience. For long timei travellers: if you have time, you can easily stay here for a month exploring the Valle Sagrado, get fit in the altitude, learn about local crafts, food, culture, history, Spanish etc.. After a while, it always feels healthy to leave Cusco again. Safe travels!

Great little city to explore , it had everything a great place to explore before you head off to Machu Picchu .
If you like Irish bars then Cusco has the highest 100% Irish owned bar in the world called Paddys bar
( 11156ft )
Beautiful property (built on a former casona that dates from the colonial era) close to Qoricancha and walking distance to the main square of Cuzco city and the San Blas area. Good restaurant and bar, nice breakfast (fresh fruit, hearty coffee) so if you feel like staying at the premises you can really enjoy the food and the open terrace. Rooms are modern, clean and confortable. Many stores and restaurant close by as well.
They can prepare a breakfast to go should you need to rise pretty early for a day trip around Cuzco.
Never given a 10 rating for a hotel and i have been travelling for the past 6 months staying in 4 & 5 star hotels only.
The best value for money hotel i have stayed in. The hotel is extremely good and the staff cannot do enough for you. We paid £45 per night, considering this included, daily clean, water and breakfast you cannot ask for anymore. If anymore was offered surely the hotel would lose money. We loved the hotel and Cusco so much that we extended for another 7 nights.
Carlos and Jacky were very helpful when I was in need of help. He was available whole day and translated when needed. I felt safe.
the house was beautiful old Peruvian house with beautiful rooms. It was also simple and not very luxury, but that is exactly what I choose, no fancy western hotel. Carlos was always helpful with advice about the city and interested how I was doing. very friendly people. thank you dear Carlos and Jacky for all your help, will never forget that!
This hotel is a must if you want pure luxury and wellness to recover from traveling. We had a suite with privat whirlpool and sauna wich was so nice, you can order food in the evening in the room wich is very good and not too expensive, breakfast was also good, much and different, rom was clean and the staff very helpful and engaged, price is absolutely ok for what is offered, the best hotel we stayed so far in Peru. We come back again. Highly recommend it.
It is a beautiful little hotel. We had a spacious room with a jacuzzi tub! The bathroom was recently renovated and nicely done. They have an elevator which is not always the case in older hotels in Peru. Breakfast was good and so was restaurant for dinner. The staff were very helpful and really went out of their way to make us comfortable. It is a block from the Cusco Market and 3 blocks to the main square.
Lovely little hotel in a perfect location in San Blas. The room was very nice, including a massive comfortable bed and spectacular view of the city. The staff were super friendly and the view from breakfast terrace was lovely. Nice quiet area of San Blas but still very close to many nice bars and restaurants as well as a short walk to Plaza De Armas.
The owner, Zuzan, was helpful and kind. She made the best breakfast out of all the hotels I've stayed at in Peru. We communicated via translator app and she understood my needs immediately. Her house is located close to the city and offers a quiet rest at night. I was able to walk to San Pedro market within 10 minutes in the morning.
Tariq is in a wonderful location for sightseeing in both the Plaza de Armes area and San Blas. There are plenty of cute restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and local shops right outside the hotel. The staff was exceptional and made booking transportation to/from airport and excursions very easy! Couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Really nice hotel in San Blas. A bit far but it is in a quiet and pretty square. The facilities are great and the rooms are super nice with lots of storage, good shower. Wifi is much better than in other places (but Cusco in general can have wifi issues). The staff are very friendly and breakfast is great
We ended up being in a deluxe family room which was amazing - huge comfy bed, smart TV and lots of space. The hotel felt luxury and the breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Peru (buffet with four additional cooked options to choose from).
Quinta hotel is situated in the best area of Cusco and offers really great value for money accommodation in its serene gardens. The rooms were really spacious and combined the Peruvian style with modern notes. Very clean and comfort overall.
Stunning boutique hotel. Beautiful architecture and well appointed with authentic Peruvian details.
Excellent Massage and spa and beautiful yoga facility- charming studio with live greens and vines and view of Cusco
Great hotel in San Blas and Carlina made my experience an excellent one. I wasn’t feeling too well, so she brought me coca tea, helped me with laundry, and much more. She’s a real asset to this property
A cute little hotel, very conveniently located next to the San Pedro market. It's also next to the Cusco perurail station. And it's just around 10 minutes walk from Plaza de Aramas.
The hotel is beautiful and very well located. Very close to Plaza de Armas and walking distance to San Blas. Breakfast is good. Wifi works. Staff are friendly and eager to help.
