Wonderful and a very ancient town, with many historical buildings to see, unspoiled by the crowds of tourists. It was lively on Saturday with local people walking around shops in the downtown, the prices in the cafes are like for locals. There is a nice view to the river surrounded by the mountains outside the city walls, with a walking path along the river.

Prato is a beautiful town to visit with a range of activities to keep you busy. The restaurants and bars serve authentic, delicious cuisine and have a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The historical centre is easy and safe to wander around day or night with excellent views of Prato from the parapet of Castello dell’Imperatore. Some of the residents speak english, and are patient with travellers who attempt Italian. Molto bene!

No matter when you arrive and no bus/tkt/etc, be assured that one can walk there easily in about 10 minutes and always on main boulevard/street. It's the main hotel in San Marco piazza (big waterfountain). You can almost see the hotel in the distance from stazione. Lot's of ped/zone activity everywhere. I took the public LAM Blue (1 or 2 euro?) bustop for Flrenze just outside SM piazza. Much easier for me than taking train from Prato SM hotel.

There is a cool looking fortress but I didn't have the time to check it out. The ppl r so nice, I couldn't manage to buy a bus ticket since it is 6am on a Sunday, but the bus driver allows me to go on his bus to the train station and buy aftermath
Peaceful and quiet location in the greenery on the side of the mountain with beautiful views of the surroundings and Prato.
Nice old dignified furniture, memorabilia decorating the rooms, paintings on the walls. The opportunity to be in a beautiful full of history living room and dining room. Breakfast was tasty, delicious pastries, cakes, good coffee, orange juice, yogurt, apples, pears.
Nice and helpful hostess Veronica.
The owner is very kind and have good service mind. He prepared Tascan product to welcome us. He gave us a refund on first night for the inconvenience caused by a few rain dropped in the apartment due to unfinished roof maintenance. He offered coffee and dessert every morning. In addition, he gave us a ride to Prato train station on the departure date. We are so happy with him and absolutely recommend this apartment.
This was a spotlessly clean well equipped apartment, full of character. The bed was very comfy and the facilities were excellent. the location was excellent. 4 mins walk from Prato Porta al Serraglio train station and central for all bars, shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Tommaso our host was extremely helpful recommending places to eat. Florence was a mere 30mins on the train. approx £5 return.
very welcoming staff/owner, helpful and accommodating, communicated well before and during our stay. Hotel is very secure on a Main Street. It was clean throughout all areas and the rooms. Breakfast continental and laid out for guests.
The hotel is well located for the railway station and around 15-20 mins from the old town of Prato.
The bed was comfy, the room was spacious, the views from the window were stunning & it was a short distance walking from the train station. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here & for the price it’s totally worth it ! Prato is beautiful & if you’re priced out of Florence this is a great spot to stay the night.
A truly unique, exceptional hotel. The surrounding scenery is beautiful.
The room was spotlessly clean. Responsive and friendly staff.
The place can be reached on foot on a well-lit, paved path from the railway station.
Highly recommended.
Great place to stay if you want to avoid the tourist cost of Florence but only be a 20min train away.
Lovely room
5 euro buffet breakfast at the hotel so worth it, fueled us for busy days exploring Florence
The staff was super nice and flexible! They made it easy to book additional nights very last minute. They also had an elevator which not every hotel did. The room was really big too!
Big room, very good position in the nice Prato, 10 min from the station and in the city center. Hotel nice with very helpful elevator. Staff very nice and kind.
