Spanning 11 kilometres between the Adriatic Sea and one of the most famous lagoons in the world, Lido is a narrow and long island located just in front of Venice’s Old Town. Beach resorts, hotels and private villas replaced the vegetable gardens 160 years ago that provided tranquil settings for poets and writers like Lord Byron and Thomas Mann.
Probably one of the first beach resorts in the world, its first facility opened in 1857 and soon became a success. Nowadays, it constitutes a peaceful suburb that claims its golden past once a year during the Film Festival, and offers a quieter setting for your accommodation than central Venice.
There are actually three different villages on the island. Lido itself is located in the north, and includes most of the hotels and the Venice Casino. The smaller Malamocco and Alberoni are situated to the centre and south respectively. The sea-facing side of Lido Island is a succession of sandy beaches, mostly belonging to different resorts and hotels.
Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta is the island’s main street, leading from the ‘vaporetto’ water bus pier to the sea. There are buses running on the island, while direct waterbus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport are also available.

Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year.
Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year. She'd stayed in lots of areas. Great choice ! The island was quieter, cleaner, cheaper and not so busy. It was lovely to walk around, trees, flora and fauna, churches , lots of shops and restaurants. Short stroll to a beautiful beach. Amazing sunsets, with all those views. Picture perfect. We used a three day vaporetta pass to get around. We were two stops away from main part of Venice, where we got off to explore. Four stops to San Marco, quick and easy. Longer trips to Murano, which was worth a visit...free to get into the glass factory on a Wednesday and the airport was a 45 minute ride, but easily done.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The space was quaint and perfectly located away from the crazy busy hub that is Venice. It was a 5 minute walk to the laundromat, where you could have a drink nearby at a bar while you waited. Another 5 minute walk and you were at the beach. Lots of eateries, shops, bars and way less people.

Very close to the buzzing city of Venice (only minutes by Vaporetto) but away from all the noise and crowded streets. Perfect place to relax in the evening. Very nice restaurants, B&Bs and even a beach where you can sunbath and swim. We used to stay in Venice but now we always stay here.

Feels like a typical Italian village, but it's only a ten minute boat ride to piazza San Marco. It's quiet, but elegant. The bars and restaurants I tried - on the main boulevard and along the canal - were excellent.

I didn't go to the beach, I went to a ceremony in the Palazzo del cinema. Lido is a quiet place with beautiful houses and a beach. You can see the sunset from the water front and Venice which was very pretty. I heard that it's quite dead in winter time, but end of September was perfect, quiet but still lively.
Absolutely wonderful hotel. Amazing location and views across the lagoon to Venice.
Breakfast was really good, lots of choice and quality in the buffet and even the option of prosecco!
Room was large and comfortable. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
The location is perfect just close to the vaporetto stop for the 15min boat ride into Venice and close to restaurants, shops, etc...
Lido is lovely, quieter, and more open and airy than Venice, and there's the added bonus of the sandy beach.
This hotel is in a brilliant location. Short walk from the water bus stops and the beach and restaurants. The hotel is exceptionally pretty with a wonderful history. The staff are brilliant - particularly the front of house staff. The lovely lady who welcomed us and took us on a tour of the hotel when we arrived was so helpful. Staying here was a real experience and so glad we stayed a short ride from Venice as the Lido feels much more peaceful. The breakfasts were brilliant and the service fantastic.
We stayed two days in Sea tower hotel wit our dog.
Petra was very friendly and kind. Communication wit her was very smooth and she helped us with all infos we needed to move around the island and go to Venice.
Hotel is situated in a very good location next to the bus station and the beach in front.
I would highly recommend it to all future guests that want to spend time on this beautiful island that is just a step away from spectacular Venice.
It was a surprise to arrive in Hotel Belvedere late at night. Room was large, modern and very efficient in layout. Breakfasat was served on the table due to COVID. And the selection was varied...but you have to ask for what you want.
The water taxi was just across the road and took only 15 minutes to our preferred stops in Venice. The beach was walking distance and some of the best restaurants to eat on Lido was accessible by foot.
Its a great location. the waterbus terminal right out front gets you to anywhere in Venice and the lagoon - waterbus to and from the Airport - 10/15mins on the waterbus to St Marks Square. A lovely family run old style Italian Hotel. Very friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Good bar/restaurant downstairs and lots of other bars and restaurants and shops minutes away. the beach is a 10 minute walk. We had a great time and we'll be back.
Very good location just opposite the ferry stop from Venice and at the start of the main shopping street with many restaurants and bars. Also not too far to walk to the private or public beaches. The southern beaches can easily be reached by bus also stopping opposite the hotel. The room was very modern, clean and the air condition was working wonders. Breakfast was good with a variety of food choices.
The hotel has a great atmosphere because it is a bit older but seems well maintained. The breakfast was very good. My gf has gluten intolerance which we communicated at the time of booking. They promptly responded and provided her, every morning, with a variety of glutenfree alternatives. This was much appreciated. The staff was friendly and the room was good. We enjoyed our stay very much.
A short walk from the water-busses, the hotel is centrally located around many stores, restaurants, and bars.
The room was cosy and newly renovated: there were plugs everywhere to charge devices. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
The gym was small but contained everything one would need. The staff was great.
Breakfast was not my favorite, but the staff was just so nice and helpful in responding to our questions. It is a very nice little hotel. Very close to the boat transportation. They have a cute cat on the property that loves cuddles, I love cats, don't judge, lol. Very nice stay and we would come back for sure in the future.
Location is amazing. The hotel is situated on Lido island. One side of the hotel looks at Venice lagoon, the other one - at Adriatic Sea. Private boats are delivering the guests from the hotel to the center of Venice (San Marco) and back, so you can relax at the beach during day and visit Venice in the evening.
The hotel is truly enchanting, located in the iconic Venice Lido. The setting is undeniably romantic, and the classic architecture creates an atmospheric experience fitting for a visit to the "Old Lady of Italy." If it were solely based on aesthetics and ambiance, this hotel would receive top marks.
We loved the location, a few minutes walk from the beach and not far from the farry station, so getting to and from Venice was in easy reach.
The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, with so many authentic pieces and beautiful gardens around.
Very nice location, close to vaporetto.
Many nice restaurants around.
Generally liked staying at Lido, beautiful island and as a bonus you can go to a beach
Very nice breakfast at the hotel is a plus.
Staff was nice
I upgraded to a delux which I then was lucky to have a balcony. The room was very clean as well as the rest of the Hotel.
Staff were very friendly. Not to far to walk to the beach and ferry crossing.
There where very helpful and kind with customers. Breakfast was awesome and 24 hour desk person ready to help at anytime . I recommend this hotel to everyone to try it . I love it .
This is a fairly priced hotel in a residential part of the Lido. The staff were very helpful and called a couple of restaurants on my behalf. It was safe and clean.
Personel was so, so nice... Location near beach and bus stops were also great and that was important for us.
