Loved the decor which was in keeping with the hotel. The bed was comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. The towels were large and fluffy, a real treat.
We ate dinner at the hotel and enjoyed tasty food, generous portions and our meals were piping hot. Breakfast was equally as delicious, especially the bacon.
Our host, Kim was very welcoming.

Location was brilliant, we will definitely be staying here on our next visit to Rye. Our hosts went above and beyond to provide for us, they were so helpful with recommendations of places to visit in Rye. Breakfast was so lovely every morning, great selection of dishes, all homemade and their attention to detail was perfect. So kind and thoughtful, especially for my partner who was coeliac, they happily catered for him. Can’t wait to come back!

Great town atmosphere with a wonderful heritage center . The volunteers were most informative and friendly.
I also was most impressed with the well set up nature reserve. A good cafe and visitor center and excellent bird hides.

A walk around the town of Rye is a must to see all the old buildings and shops.
There are quite a number of restaurants in Rye to choose from. Some of the 'owners' or managers need a course in customer service....Called into one to check his menu and when we said we were just looking he was not so helpful after we said we are just looking for a place for tonight....
However, we stopped into a small cafe for lunch and had great potato soup, which was excellent on a cold day.

A perfect weekend spot.
A perfect weekend spot. There’s lots to see, but it’s manageable in a weekend, with plenty of time built in to enjoy the culinary delights on offer - there are some very good restaurants and cafes. Rye is very hilly and there are lots of flint, cobbled streets, so those with reduced and/or limited mobility may find it challenging to get around. Many of the buildings are listed and so not always the most accessible - don’t let this put you off, but just be aware.

Rye is built on a hill so naturally has steep paths and many steps. However the local council try their best to discourage more elderly visitors by having closed most public toilets and arranging car parking so that visitors staying overnight have to be up early in the morning to get to the car parks at the bottom of the hill by 8.00am or risk a substantial fine. In view of this we would avoid staying overnight in the town in future

We go to Rye a couple of times a year, we either stay at the Mermaid Inn, if they have an offer on. Or The Kings Head. We really like the Kings Head as it is really good value for money & staff are always most polite & friendly. We particularly like Rye for its Character & charm. It is always bustling.
A place for a perfect little break.
What a wonderful surprise, a motel with 5* hotel service. Spotlessly clean and everything you need. Ed, the proprietor is a winner, I could not rate his service more highly. Breakfast included is a 3 course meal - cereals, croissants and then a full English breakfast - all served with gleeful smiles. This is a motel, but it's pretty and spotless with space to breathe. The motel is alongside the main road through the area, but nights are silent and we slept fabulously. The best thing is the kind and meticulous service. GO ED!!!!
Absolutely phenomenal location, room and cleanliness. The decor was gorgeous. Check in and Check out are very easy. Lovely and comfortable rooms and beds. The breakfast is any dish from their brunch menu, it was absolutely delicious, I was really fond of it. The room are spacious, the showers are clean. Everyone is really nice and accommodating.
Fantastic coffee for your breakfast, to me it meant a lot to have good quality coffee. Would absolutely stay here again if visiting Rye. Great location, 5 min from train station.
The cottage is beautiful, cosy and full of character. We went during a cold weekend in December and it was toasty warm. The room was even better than we expected: the bed super comfy, the shower was great, and the whole room was full of lovely little touches like very appreciated biscuits! Brenda did so much to make our stay comfortable, we really appreciated her setting up the table for takeaway fish and chips for dinner. A perfect location for a weekend in Rye, couldn't recommend it enough!
Staff were excellent and very friendly. Always smiling. The house was impeccably maintained and spotless. Many extra thoughtful touches, chocolates in room each night, plentiful supply of hot and cold beverages included. Cooked to order breakfast was excellent. Parking was invaluable. A very short walk in to the beautiful medieval town of Rye. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
It's a lovely guest house in a great location. It was just a short walk into the town. It also has parking which was important for us as we were arriving by car. The staff were lovely and helpful and gave advice about where to eat in the town. The breakfast was delicious too. I'd definitely recommend it and would stay there again if i was visiting Rye again.
Excellently appointed room. We had the silver room with a really nice bathroom. Good view as well. Good selection for Tea coffee and free cookies in the room plus Complimentary tea n cake during the day.
Breakfast was gourmet level - served us scallops eggs Benedict!
Staff was very warm welcoming and super helpful.
Location was ideal to explore rye town.
Lovely manor house hotel with a spa and pool which was nice. The hotel restaurant has a nice setting with views out to the tranquil gardens. EV charging and accepting pets.Great location for Rye and Camber Sands but as it's on the main road, it can be a little noisy. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
A lovely stay in a nice hotel. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is a continental buffet for the winter, but a cooked option at another hotel was offered so they're doing their best to cater for everyone's needs.
The hotel has it's own car park, which is a real bonus in Rye.
Warm, friendly, clean and comfortable.
Food- breakfast lovely varied menu. Bakery for sit in or take out option very good.
Food -Excellent.
Staff- Friendly, helpful and made the stay perfect for our Christmas break. Will be recommending the Whitehouse Hotel, Rye to friends and family.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Rye. If you'd like to stay at a traditional British hotel with classy details this is your place. Very spacious room. Great breakfast with a selection of marmalades, cereals, fruits and different sort of breakfast dishes.
We had a pleasant stay at Playden Oasts House. The hotel is full of character and the location is convenient for visiting the Rye area. We really enjoyed the meals - both breakfast and lunch - and it was great to hang out in the bar area too.
We really enjoyed the history of the building itself and the town of Rye in general. We made use
of the self-guided historical tour map of Rye that the hotel provided.
The breakfasts were wonderful and the staff friendly.
The rooms are really spacious and clean. Position is great if you are with a car as it is really close to Rye, while being in a very quiet area. Spa facilities are good considering the night rate of the hotel.
The hotel has a lovely location and view of the river, abd short walking distance to Rye centre. Nice garden area and restaurant. Breakfast was good, evening meals standard offering but decent quality.
Great location in Rye, good food and great bar with really positive, friendly staff. The hotel has a 'homey' feel and our room was nicely decorated and well thought out.
