Very cozy and lovely town, full of fields and gardens to walk, explore and love. Long path through the River Thames and some options to hire kayaks and stand up paddle. Lots of traditional pubs in the town center and very good cafes & restaurants with all kinds of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very friendly place for dogs including hotels and restaurants. We'd just missed the farmers market on Friday which was a pity. Science convention in the square on Saturday. A real hive of activity. Lots of lovely historical buildings and the Abbey gardens were lovely even on a wet march day.

We live in Leeds so the trip to Abingdon is one of our favourites .A small market town with lots of places to eat and lovely Oxfordshire countryside and wildlife. Nearby Bletchley Park is definitely worth a visit. There are lots of places to walk in Abingdon and lots of history to discover. Oxford is only a bus ride away and they are very regular .Would never drive there.

Sited close to pretty Abbey Grounds and ideally situated for exploring Abingdon. Dined on the terrace in the evening and food was delicious and plentiful, as was breakfast. The staff were lovely - very helpful and courteous at all times. Stayed in the accommodation that is situated off the courtyard / beer garden with your own front door. Bus stop to Abingdon and Oxford very short walk and also a coop which was handy. Car park was right next to accommodation as well so overall really handy for getting bags in. The beds were very comfortable and we would book again.
