This was a rather lovely rustic-meets-Scandi-style bed and breakfast about fifteen minutes drive from Angoulême city centre. It was the perfect combination of quiet, countryside location with lovely walks, and handily placed for nipping into the city. Good breakfast, very friendly staff, and big, comfortable bed, with great quality linen.

This is an exceptionally well-equipped, self-contained kitchen, bedroom, shower, and toilet adjacent to the main house. Secure parking within the gated/walled vast garden. The hosts and their family are delightful, interesting, and warmly welcoming - a lovely family. Gluten-free food allergies were catered for without hesitation - thank you. Franglais spoken! There was no breakfast - not a problem because we were not expecting one. Host did leave coffee/tea/brioche buns and cold water, so this was welcome. We stayed at the height of the heatwave and Josee had done evrything she could to keep the accommodation as cool as possible, so this was greatly appreciated. the best thing was the stone floor downstairs which cooled you down from the feet upwards!
