Hotel de l'Europe is a great hotel restaurant with superb food in a lovely Burgundy village close to Le Morvan, one of these very old hotels restaurants that are the pride of France. Don't expect international hotel chain standard confort . You will get far more. We are regulars.

The warm welcome and the friendliness of the lady of the house made us feel very welcome. The rooms are basic but are clean and very quiet. The bathroom is big and well equipped. The view from the room’s window to the countryside is breathtaking. The restaurant serves homemade cooking at reasonable prices and has a good selection of wines. Breakfast is what you get most of the times in France, croissants, bread, jam, yogurt bread, coffee or tea and fruit juices. Ok to start your day. Certainly worth its money.

Veronique and Jean-Pierre were wonderful hosts. They looked after all our needs and provided a secure place for our bicycles. We had a wonderful evening with them. Veronique cooked a fantastic meal, which we shared while having great conversation. Both hosts are fluent in English. Veronique provided a fantastic breakfast, just what cyclists need.
The house has lots of treasures and great charm. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable.

A fabulous hostess who went out of her way to make our stay an experience not to forget. It is helpful to be able to converse in French as Helene says she does not speak English.
A restful rural setting after a long journey. Not far from the Canal du Nivernais and Chitry les Mines where we keep our boat, but cannot live aboard out of season and needed to carry out essential maintenance. Recommended for others with the same requirements or for anyone else who enjoys cycling along the Canal towpaths and enjoys rural France in the warmer weather.
Nearest town is Corbigny which is a short distance away with almost everything one might need from a meal, with a glass of wine of course, to a tin tack!
