Beach and surf town with a very relaxed atmosphere. There are many restaurants, but the very best food is outside the city in a place called Cafe com Cacau. The food and the people there are worth a trip to Itacare. For tours, you have only two options, in my opinion - Dona (Sra.) Cida, a 74 years old lady who will show you the beauties of Itacare beaches and forests. Close to the center (15mn by walk) it offers a beautiful view on the river and the bungalows are very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the pool adds a little plus if you want to relax after the beach. We were welcome by Natalia who made our stay very pleasant. She gave us all the information needed about the area and was very kind to us. She also helped us organize a tour in the mangrove (which is a thing to do!) It’s just removed enough to be peaceful, but close enough to town that you can quickly drive down or walk, if you don’t mind the steep hill on the way back up. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. The cocoa theme was super fun and made for some delicious cocktails and breakfasts. The pool was also a fantastic place to relax after long, hot days on the beach or hiking. The whole hotel is so wonderfully designed.AaronUnited States

I had no seat for myself. I use the wall to put my plates on. Location is a nightmare in the heart of a fashion mall. It's not Bahia, it's not even Brazil. It's a fake district that is so fake as a cinematographyc place. Fleed away from Itacaré. Go to Barra Grande taking a boat from CAMAMU. There is a small communal kitchen with the essentials. There are washing lines for drying clothes and a sink for the laundry. The pousada is in the centre, so the rooms facing the street are a bit noisy, but this seems to be the case with most accommodation in Itacaré. Advantage: everything is close by. I recommend this pousada.
