I really liked the hostel. The beds were very comfortable and there was a light and several electrical outlets by each bed. The breakfast (Kellogs, yogurt, fruit, bread, peanut butter, jam, butter, eggs, coffee, tea, oat milk) was included in the price and very tasty. Everything was regularly replenished and cleaned. The hostel also offers many activities, which I unfortunately couldn't take part in because I only stayed one night. But they sound a lot of fun. Luggage can be stored safely in the storage. I didn't have to pay for membership to HI Hostels and there were no fees.

the bed was quite comfortable and the shower pressure was good. Great location to a lot of activities nearby (Grouse, Capilano), ample and free parking during the time we visited (late May), looks like there is some reno going on but we didn't hear anything which was good.

Room was run-down (old smell, cracked bathtub, rusting racks, hair dryer stand was falling off the wall when I pulled the dryer off and it didn't even work). Appreciate having free breakfast however there was a lack of choice of healthier items (processed cheese, meat, cookies, cupcakes), no hot foods (eggs/bacon/sausage). There was a pancake maker but I'm not a pancake fan so I can't comment.

The receptionist was great in telling us about the place, breakfast and facilities. The room was spotless bed very comfortable. Breakfast was the best You must stay here.

It's not the property issue. Just I need to travel back and forth to Ottawa that this location is not an ideal place or the cost for public transport is a bit expensive. I don't know this until I arrived there. For those who travel to Ottawa the first time, it's better to aware of this point.
