The Captain's House heritage bed & breakfast, hotel in Midland

The Captain's House heritage bed & breakfast is an historic home in Midland built in 1905. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property and free private parking is available on site.

This house is really unique due to having most of the original fixtures, woodwork and other elements retained since it was built in the early 1900s (if I have remembered this correctly from what our hosts said). It is a true heritage site. Ross and Ginette were extremely nice and very experienced hosts. The breakfast was superb! Midland is a great location for access to other parts of the Georgian Bay National Park further north. We would definitely return if we are back in there at some point in the future.

Victoria Harbour Cottages, hotel in Midland

Featuring free bikes, garden and views of lake, Victoria Harbour Cottages is set in Victoria Harbour, 8.8 km from Tay River Basin.

This cottage is just incredible! It is more like being in a hotel! The only thing you need to bring are your beach towels and food. You don't even have to wash dishes if you don't want to as there is a dishwasher. We had the one room chalet. The kids loved the loft. The king-sized bed was comfy, and we even slept an extra guest on the pull-out couch. The Smart TV is great for rainy days. We were able to sign into Netflix and Disney Plus, and we hooked up the Nintendo Switch for my son, with no problems. There are kayaks, bikes, and paddle boats you can use without extra charge. Life vests included! The patios/firepits are amazing, wood provided, and there is a long dock you can use as well. Everything you need is within a 5 to 10 min drive. Great heritage sites are also fairly close. We enjoyed Sainte Marie on the Hurons, and the Martyrs Shrine in Midland, and Discovery Harbour in Penetanguishene. This area is amazingly quiet. The host is wonderful and readily available if you have any questions. I highly recommend this place for families, but it would be a great romantic getaway for a couple at any time of year.

I have driven past the Midland area many times in my life but this was my first time visiting and it was well worth the stay. There was lots of lovely scenic areas to walk, and the food was fantastic. Being vegan my favourite restaurant was MegaMindful Living and the downtown had many interesting mom and pop stores. Next time I hope I can stay longer. I think it will be a beautiful place to return to in the fall when the leaves start to change colour.

Midland is a great and fun place to visit.

Midland is a great and fun place to visit. As part of our BFF Getaway in June 2023, we visited the Saint Anne Catholic Church, Discovery Harbour, King's Wharf Theatre, Wendat Park, Sainte Marie Among the Hurons, Martyr's Shrine, Midland Downtown Murals and Harbour, Little Lake Park, and the Victoria Harbour. Exploring Midland is highly recommended for history, culture and tradition.

The purpose of our trip was to attend a funeral so we were not able to take in some of the wonderful attractions in the area. Our hotel the Midland Inn was a pleasant surprise. It was close to the hwy. and to downtown. Good value for the money.

Sorry, I rated wrong for your hotel Midland Inn and Suite, the bad comments were supposed to be for another hotel I stayed the following night. I would like to correct it. Midland Inn and Suite was great, new and comfortable in the room, breakfast was good in many choices of bread. Coffee was great.

The hotel & room was wonderful - bright, comfortable & clean. The staff were friendly & helpful & even were kind enough to allow us to check in earlier than normal - we arrived early & wanted to get some info about the area & thought we would just ask if we could check in if the room was ready - which it was - very accommodating & did not expect it, Only negative about the hotel was the location directions - even on google maps & waze we had trouble finding it.

large room with a fridge , table and chairs was a bonus what with covid we ate in most of the time. Hotel was very handy to supermarkets and restaurants . We choose not to have house keeping, any supplies you needed , only had to ask .re towel change etc. Midland is a lovely town very clean and tidy downtown area, not to mention the views from the waterfront Location great for short drives to other areas. We stayed six nights in September and loved our scenic drives or sitting by the water.

First time in Midland for my husband and I. Charming and friendly town. Will definitely come back in summer time. Nice little Inn. Very cleaned. Staffs making sure we were happy. Upgrade us to a bigger room because our was not ready when we arrived. It was quite nice of them. The only thing missing was coffee machine in the room but not a big deal. Simple and comfortable. Would return on our next trip.

Ross and Ginette (and cat Yoko) were gracious hosts who served us a delicious breakfast. The house is beautifully maintained and centrally located, so it's ideal for walking around Midland. We arrived by bicycle, and they had a secure storage space for our bikes, which was much appreciated. Highly recommended!

I'd like the location of Is this hotel Made it super easy for convenience. We stayed in the motel park, so we got to pull right up in front of our door. The front desk was great greeted me as soon as I walked in And was very helpful answering all my questions.

Nothing The cost was insanely high for the quality of the hotel that was there. The rooms were dirty and outdated. If the cost was a fraction of what I paid my review would be different. There is no reason I should be paying 700 for 2 nights at this hotel.

The room was big and had a fridge and a microwave. The reception staff kindly stored my food in the fridge for me, until I could check in. The room is fine. Cheapest option I could find for Midland, but overpriced like most motels now.
