The property was clean and smelt fresh. The bed was extremely comfortable. I liked that the property was within walking distance of restaurants to eat at. A continental breakfast was included in the price. The host was very helpful and offered us advice on places to eat and attractions to visit.

Restaurant food was best part of the stay - rooms were shabby and needed a lot of work.

Dubbo was a great family trip! (My partner completely disagrees however..) We could have stayed for longer, the observatory was incredible, Peter Starr still ran the night sky tour even though it was just our family booked. I can’t believe the things we saw through the telescope there! Nebulas, star nurseries, things outside the Milky Way, stars that look like one to the eye and then are actually 3 stars! The zoo was great too - highly recommend the golf cart hire, the kids definitely enjoyed that more than the animals. But the animals were also great and feeding the giraffes was a highlight - I had no idea they had so much personality! The coffee in town was good too lots of cafes to choose from…. We didn’t do the dining scene proud as we had domino’s and subway for dinner but at least the kids were fed!

The zoo pass covers two days and it’s great to be able to exit the zoo and come back again so we could go get lunch and come back later in the day for when the lions were right at the glass screens!
Great value for money.
The old Dubbo gaol is very small and very over priced for what it has to offer and the short amount of time it takes to see it all.

Lots to see and places to visit all within an easy commute.
Lots to see and places to visit all within an easy commute. Never been to a big rural city like Dubbo that has so many railway crossings they are everywhere. Lots of history and culture in Dubbo that needs to be developed better and guides to where everything is to be located. Dubbo is a big rural city but has a great modern hospital located there.

There is much in and around Dubbo, you just need the time and resources to look around, there are places worth a visit less that 1 hour by car around Dubbo,
The Plains zoo is probably worth going back the next day to catch those things you missed on the first days tour, the second day entry is included in the ticket price

As a family we were in Dubbo for the attractions.
As a family we were in Dubbo for the attractions. We purchased a Big Pass, which got us into the Zoo for 2 days, RFDS Experience, Old Dubbo Gaol and Wellington Caves. It was good value for money and all of the experiences were excellent to do as a family. We particularly loved the zoo and caves (even booking a second tour at the caves to see the Gaden one as well as Cathedral). We ate at Royal Indian on our first night, which was excellent dining and reasonably priced. During our stay we also ate at Burger Urge and a mexican restaurant - both of which were good but a bit more 'takeoutish'. The main street had plenty of shopping experiences for the kids, with our daughter loving the local games D&D store. We also were there over New Years, and attended the fireworks on the oval for a small $2 per person charge - very reasonable. This was good family fun with plenty of food van options. Our kids really enjoyed the Dubbo Pool and water slides (extra cost and a bit pricey for a family at $10 pp for 30 minutes) and went there on a few days to enjoy the splashpark and cool off in the pool. Altogether we had a really lovely family experience and would recommend it for a 1 week visit for any family.
A Lovely cottage, so quiet and yet close to Western Plains Zoo, the Observatory (highly recommended), and close enough to Dubbo city centre for restaurants and other attractions.
Fresh bread on arrival. Everything for breakfast fruit, eggs, croissants etc.
Kangaroos in the fields first thing in the morning are a treat. Sitting on the back porch in the evening with birds, ducks and geese aplenty near the pond - great way to end the day.
Can't think of anything that has been missed in terms of facilities.
Highly recommended
Location was great, only a short drive from the zoo. It was good value for money. 3 separate bedrooms which was great. Fresh towels next day, cleaners do a great job. Tea and coffee provided, appliances were super helpful, full size fridge, kettle, microwave etc. Reception staff were nice and let me park my trailer on-site in the managers spot. Beds were quite comfy. TV had Netflix on it, super handy for the kids at night time. If I went back to Dubbo I’d use this place again👍🏻
The staff were so helpful and we enjoyed having the seating at the barbecue area next to the motel units as we had a group of 6. Two only had 4 days but we had the 5th with our close friends. We really enjoyed the Zoo the second day as you knew where to go. The Devils Hollow Brewery was exceptional and the Red Earth wine tasting was enjoyable. We saw so much of Dubbo so came away feeling like we really had a holiday!
As reception told me, they are a level above backpackers and they were not wrong. The hotel was easy to find. And once inside the room, could not hear traffic. The room was very small and tired. Could only just fit a portacot in it. So room would suit a family of 3 with the child being able to sleep in a bunk. The water was hot and bedding clean. OK for a cheap room for a night if you have no expectations.
The room was big enough. The east view over tennis court and position of room was good. Great balcony with view to tennis court. There were enough power points and device points for our electronic devices. Dinner restaurant only. Close to other restaurants. Next door to golf club. Close to the Zoo, almost walking distance, if you were keen for the extra exercise.
This is a beautifully renovated, centrally located cottage where attention to detail can be seen everywhere. I think the bed would be rated one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in! While it's very central, it's also very quiet, with off street parking, in a great area of Dubbo. We will definitely be back.
Great room. Loved that there was a guest laundry. The owners were very helpful and added little extra touches like water and sponge outside room to clean windshield. Very close to Dubbo zoo and lots of fast food places across the street if you wanted a quick meal. Great visit
The check in process was wonderful and very accommodating. It was raining and the gentleman behind the counter took the time to ask what food we liked and provided recommendations and listed family friendly activites we could do on a rainy day. Beds were very comfortable.
Clean, quiet, very comfortable and has all the items needed for a very enjoyable stay. Beds were so comfy! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location too, short walking distance to the main street in Dubbo and a short drive to the Western Plains zoo!
Location, views. Well set up. Quiet. Not far to zoo or dubbo. Breakfast was good. Everything you needed was provided. Ideal for people with dogs or children. Enclosed yard with playground equipment. Great country atmosphere even kangaroos around.
Cabin was self contained kitchenette Gas hotplate microwave etc so you can cook Breakfast or Lunch was equipped well with Crockery cutlery cooking utensils. Also a Communal camp Kitchen. Pet friendly also for Familys Furbabies.
We came to Dubbo in particular to visit the zoo Ann's cougar accommodation not far from it. We were very happy with the accommodation and surprised at how quiet it was considering it was on a busy road.
