This is a fantastic place, the views and sunsets are amazing. The room and facilities are impeccable, highest standard and sparkly clean. The staff is super nice and extremely helpful. They helped us organizing a guide to the Cloud forest (who was fantastic too) and gave us a lot of other helpful information and pointers. The location is slightly outside the center of Santa Elena on a ridge overviewing the rolling hills and the Nicoya peninsula. The sun sets right in front of the rooms which have fantastic windows and terraces to enjoy the view from. The bed was huge and super comfortable. The food in the restaurant is great too.

We loved the entire experience at Hotel Belmar! Located high up in the Cloud Forest of Costa Rica, the location is fantastic; Not to mention the beauty of the hotel itself and surroundings. We stayed in a room with incredible views of the misty cloud forest Enjoyed delicious meals at Celajes with their farm-to-table concept and freshly grown ingredients Last but certainly not least, we cannot speak highly enough of our Nightfall forest-immersion at SAVIA and agro-adventure + horse ride at Finca Madre Tierra! Overall a magical and exceptional experience , muchisimas gracias! Pura Vida!

Best view of the Arenal Volcano. We stayed 3 nights, but 2 would be enough. We visited ecological reserve and Selvatura Park. The host served delicious breakfasts. We also ate dinners at the lodge. It was a very tasty local food with great presentation. The host, Eulogio, recommended a hike to the falls on the property, and we followed his advice. It took us about 1 hour to complete the hike and see the falls.

    Monteverde is a great place to stay for nature tourists that are wanting to experience a legitimate cloud forest. I've been several times and absolutely love it. I would suggest not only visiting some of the several nature reserves, but also the orchid garden and the frog zoo. Oh yeah! try to find a night tour, also. A lot of the most interesting animals are nocturnal.

    Such a beautiful culture and land. The cloud forest is magical and the guides are passionate about sharing what makes it unique and about preserving it. The falls at El Tigre are an absolute must, and Los Pinos Cabins offer one of the most memorable and relaxing accommodations I've experienced in recent years.

    Mo reverse was a beautiful place to visit, nice restaurants/bars/shops, it is very hilly (bring it’s up a mountain). Lots to do whilst there. We used Treetop’s a to go zip lining and high bridges walk, they were very professional and made sure your safety was top priority.

    Monteverde is a must for any trip to Costa Rica, loved the vibe in town, chilled, arty, massive choice of restaurants, galleries and shops. Tons of activities. We did Monteverde Cloud Forest with a guide, and Treetopia zip lines. So much more to see, wish we could have stayed longer.

    If you are a birder, this is paradise.

    If you are a birder, this is paradise. In just a few days we identified nearly 200 species of birds. There are lots of reserves, parks, etc. in Monteverde to explore and it would be easy to spend a couple of weeks trying to see them all. Try to find a good guide, they are invaluable.

    Monteverde was one of the highlight of our Costa Rica tour. The forests are beautiful (though we saw more wildlife during the day in Manual Antonio and Cahuita). Do not miss the night tour with a knowledgeable local guide, you can spot a lot of animals and he also explains a lot about animals that you can see on your own during the day. Millions of potentials for different activities (we tried Selvatura package, excellent, can only recommend), coffee plant tour, hanging bridges, hiking, etc. I wish we could have had more time here ! I would return anytime (to hike El Tigre which we did not have time now, do a canopy tour again and hanging bridges). Food was also great (Sabor Tico, at the football field and Choco Café Restaurante y Cafetería).

    We had to leave early and declined breakfast so the staff would not have to wake up early just for us. The hotel was most accommodating and prepared fruit plates for us the night before and left them in the refrigerator for us to pick up the next morning. This was unexpected but very much appreciated. The previous evening's dinner was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The view of the Arenal Volcano is spectacular! We will definitely stay here again for several days on our next visit to Costa Rica.

    The location in Monteverde was great - near some good restaurants and a small (expensive!) supermercado. The lodge was fantastic - three ensuite bedrooms for a family of 4. What we loved most of all was the flora and fauna. We saw an armadillo and countless humming birds - many many more than when we visited the Cloud Forest! Agouti everywhere too. The trails around the property were an unexpected bonus as was the helpfulness of the staff who recommended activities including the Selvatura zip wire.

    Our favourite hotel in Costa Rica!! The treehouses are incredible - the glass doors/windows really make it feel like you’re immersed in the forest and you can hear many birds chirping and monkeys moving around. it was great to have the private patio area and we found ourselves trying to make more time to spend relaxing in our beautiful tree house during our Monteverde visits. also, the hosts are so kind and helpful - they helped us book taxis/shuttles and cooked a delicious breakfast each morning.

    Loved my stay at Mariposa, lovely clean and quiet cabins in great surroundings. Breakfast is available over the road and there are a few other options within walking distance too. Esteban is a wonderful host! He gave me lots of information on getting around and places to see. Booked taxis and also helped me out with my laundry. Great location for monteverde cloud forest, curi cancha and enternal childrens rainforest. All within walking distance. Santa elena is a short taxi or bus ride away.

    Amazing boutique hotel with an exceptional sitution and one of the best viewpoints we've had in Costa Rica. The bungalows are quite big and charming, and we had the chance to meet the owner on several occasions, who was very fiendly and eager to help with any needs we could have. The restaurant is also a plus. The cocktails and food are excellent and it's perfect if you arrived late at the hotel or simply don't want to go all the way to Monteverde to enjoy a good meal. Highly recommended!

    Beautiful! Family-run intimate cabin rentals on gorgeous grounds, complete with farm-to-table restaurant and tilapia farm ponds. Highly recommend this serene space. The host were very friendly and helpful - offering info and tips for area sights and attractions around Monte Verde. Definitely a great place to visit with a family with fields and gardens to explore or play a game of soccer. The food --- amazing!! So so good. It's a bit off the beaten path - but adds to the peacefulness.

    This hotel exceeded all my expectations! The room was huge and everything was very clean. Staff was able to accomodate our early departure and got us in for breakfast. The location is safe with free parking and is about a 15 minute walk (with hills) to downtown. This is a small family owned hotel; and at first I was concerned because it is new and have few reviews but I would 100% stay here again! I highly recommend Natura for anyone staying near Monte Verde!!

    A dream-like hotel far from the town. Actually you dont need to be in or near the town to enjoy Mondeverde, because all the attractions are far from the town either.     We really enjoyed our stay at El Sueno Hotel. We didn't have the time required to plan in advance our days in Monteverde, so we were quite anxious to make the most of our days there, and hopefully, Carlos was the best person we could ever find to help us on our way.     You can't find better value for money in Monteverde/Santa Elena. The host, Lili, goes out of her way to help you. She never intrudes. Delicious free coffee in the morning. Parking at the door, as well as a small supermarket. Close to the village (a steep road though). Shower works very well. Kitchenette where you can make your own breakfast/dinner. Also a common room. Helpful, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. We could walk to everything we could want or need. If we visited monte verde we would definitely stay here again. We loved it, place is even better in person.

    The hotel property was beautiful and it was close enough to walk to town. There was a simple breakfast included, which was nice. There was also plenty of hot water (I saw some reviews saying there wasn't but there was). The staff was super friendly and helpful.

    Emanuel is so nice, helpful and awesome. His sister's attached restaurant is great and the breakfast is super good. Location is ideal and walking distance to town. Emanuel helped is with local bookings. There is so much to do in the beautiful Monte Verde area.

    Great location to walk into Santa Elena for dinner. The balcony by the Restaurant/Bar of the hotel was a great place for sunset watching. Staff was friendly and gave good recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was tasty, cooked to order.

    The tent was truly luxurious, much more than most hotel rooms, as was the partially glassed delightfully hot shower of the Pacific Tent. The outside treehouse view was very nice. The restaurant experience was wonderful.

    Dave is a great host. He gave us a lot of great suggestions of activities to do in Monteverde. He is a passionate guy. The place was clean, and close to Santa Elena. Nice view for sunset.

    Cosy, quiet cottage outside the touristy Santa Elena. it's in walking distance to monteverde cloud forest reserve. Hosts were very friendly and helped with reservation of a night walk.
