The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating - although they were short staffed, they made us feel so welcome and at home. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the location was spot on, right on the seafront - we left the window open and listened to the waves all night. The hotel also supports local businesses, we bought a few pebble photos from Sarah who was so pleased and very grateful. Would definitely recommend!

The room was not serviced, so, we had to ask for tea bags etc and clean our own cups, make our bed and use already used towels. My dinner was not good, but, my husbands was.

Breakfast was really good. Location was beautiful.

A little bit of mould I the shower. It would have been great to have a hose by the Dog Bar to wash the sand off the dogs. The shower down by the beach is really difficult to use with dogs as you need an arm to keep it pressed on, and another to hold the dogs, so you can’t really get them clean.

Right by a lovely beach and all rooms have a sea view. Everything you need is there. I’d love to just get in the car again and roll up for a relaxing break - with food being served and toiletries provided, you can actually just come as you are

I love the Ship and have stayed countless times but it's starting to feel a little in need of TLC. Leak in gents toilet, broken toilet seat in room, shower head didn't stay up, plater coming off wall. Location and staff more than make up for these minor niggles however.

No hot drinks machine had been broke for 2 weeks! So this let it down, many customers asking for hot drinks so a lot of custom lost.

The view from our room was fantastic hayley the manager and her staff were very attentive

There is very limited parking space, because of the location. There are 2 sets of stairs to the rooms, which are both quite steep, so quite awkward when carrying bags.

Great location for a hideaway trip to chill out. Friendly and helpful staff - even handling a flood! Good range of drinks (only 1 real ale though) and food was popular for a quiet midweek. It’s a Marstons house, which has been refurbed, so room was better than expected for an old inn. I could latch the window and hear the waves crashing on the beach!

Location is beautiful. Lovely beach right in front with a little climb over the rocks at the right hand side,there is a lovely waterfall. You can also wait till the tide goes out a little and walk around. Did not have breakfast but we had several lovely dinners. The staff are so pleasant and willing to help in any way they can.

The breakfast choice could be more interesting eg avocado on toast, a nice porridge. Our room had a large area of paper missing around the window, looked like plaster work needed attending to

Some scuffs and signs of wear and tear in the room. We would like to see some comfortable places to relax in between being out for the day/food/bed E.g. some sofas or something to relax on. Chairs in the room weren’t very comfortable.

Location is perfect. Excellent value for money. Food is good. Selection of drinks excellent. Lovely welcome and we had a fantastic stay. This was our second visit, we loved it so much first time round.

Excellent location overlooking the bay. Warm friendly staff with well equipped and comfortable rooms. Great strong shower and comfortable bed. Good wifi allowed me to work without signal drop out. Restaurant had a had a very good menu selection and what I had was perfectly cooked. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very steep stairs up to the bedrooms, if you have mobility issues. Disappointed that we were unable to buy a drink before retiring to our room. I was told that all tills had been cashed up and closed, this was at 21.50hrs on a Saturday evening. There was no facility to create a tab, even thought we were residents.

The room was slightly chilly, but an electric panel heater was provided. I couldn't seem to get any hot water in the basin, but the shower was perfectly fine, so it wasn't a big problem.

Very friendly staff and a great welcome. The evening meal and drinks were great, and the breakfast was lovely.
